ditmier (1021), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 16, 2008 2008 Bottle - Jammy fruity aroma, flavour is of subtle grassy malt, little bitter, little sweet, kinda nice to drink, I’m surprised.. uhclem (188), Loveland, Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2008 Pours a reddish gold. Head is fizzy and dissipates immediately, leaving no lacing. Nose is thin, with a hint of grasses. They do a decent job of marrying the malt and hops. It has body but is not cloying. Aftertaste is pleasant but nothing special. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA Apr 2, 2008 12oz. bottle. Sparkling honey gold; head dissipates rapidly with no lacing. Nose is mostly of grains, though there are some herbal/grass notes as well. Fresh, clean taste, again mostly grain. Good balance between malts and hops. Almost falls into the lawnmower beer class, but this is a slight cut above that. Alaskan Summer is also a great beer to entice friends out of the macrobrew rut. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Mar 31, 2008 bottle. light copper/golden pour iwth clarity and carbonation. thin head. light grainy aroma. grain, wheat, mild fruit. good balance and enought body to make this really enjoyable. refreshing. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Mar 26, 2008 Updated: May 11, 200812 OZ bottle via sfway. Pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Nose is nice and floral. Taste is caramel, toasted grains, some mild fruity esters, and a bit of earthiness and floral hops in the finish. Carbonation is moderate and body is medium. A nice easy to drink refreshing summer beer. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Feb 25, 2008 12 oz bottle from Von’s. Pours a translucent golden color with a small white head that quickly disappeared to nothing. The aroma was weak, sort of sweet and grassy. The flavor featured sweet breads, biscuit, biter cherries and hay. The mouthfeel was full and malty. The finish was short with lingering saccharine flavors. Overall: An average brew, recommended for people looking for an interesting Kolsch. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Feb 9, 2008 Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. [vintage 2004] Pours a clear golden orange with a small, rather fizzy white head. Aroma has rye bread, sweetness and light hops. Light mouthfeel. Quite sweet with clear maltiness as well. Some oxidation, but not overly much so. It is a nice enough summer beer, but rather dull hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Feb 3, 2008 Draft at Chinook Winds Casino Resort, Lincoln City, OR. White head that was mostly diminishing, spotty lacing, transparent, very little carbonation, and a yellow hue. Malty, hoppy, sweet nose. Flavor was semi-sweet, malty, hops and a hint of corn. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body. Nothing outstanding about this one. Just an okay brew.
