hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Feb 3, 2008 Draft at Chinook Winds Casino Resort, Lincoln City, OR. White head that was mostly diminishing, spotty lacing, transparent, very little carbonation, and a yellow hue. Malty, hoppy, sweet nose. Flavor was semi-sweet, malty, hops and a hint of corn. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body. Nothing outstanding about this one. Just an okay brew. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA Jan 26, 2008 Pours a golden hue into a clear glass tumbler. Aroma is nice, grassy slight malt. Minimal head with very bold lacings. About as full bodied as a light amber brew can get. The hops are just slightly bitter, the malt lightly toasted. This is the beer A-B wishes they could brew. Pure, sweet, with enough hops to give it character. Finish is perfectly balanced and just slightly sweet.
I could drink this all night without burnout. drjay44 (760), Salida, Colorado, USA Jan 19, 2008 Lighter than what I normally like, and this is the wrong time of year to be drinking a summer ale. That said, this is pleasant enough, although very "lite". It would be a good beer for a hot day when you are getting thirsty. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 18, 2008 I would not call this a true on version of something you would find in Cologne, but a decent everyday drinking summer beer. Weak and somewhat watered down cereal grain maltiness. A bit of lemony zitrus, mixed with some grassiness in thie finish. Boring turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Jan 12, 2008 Gold with a very weak aroma of citrus...Flavor is watery sweet malt, corn wet dishrag,
Corn finish. I thought it would be better. ZiggyG (131), Gladstone, Oregon, USA Jan 11, 2008 bottle. Pours a very light gold with an airy here then gone type head. Smell is of light hops and some wheaty esters. Taste is pretty thin on flavor, a little hops citrus and wheat sweetness but really not much doing. Mouthfeel is very thin. Not really a fan of the style but it is certainly crisp. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jan 2, 2008 Bottle was bought in Anchorage maybe that makes a difference for freshness. The head was real good but didn’t last too long. Low on the bitterness scale and a slightly sweet flavor one of the best Kölschs I have had. Good balance of hops and malt. Snojerk321 (1919), San Diego, California, USA Dec 3, 2007 12oz bottle from BevMo Carmel. Pours a rusty golden color with a light white head. Nose of citrus, spice, and herbal hops.
