BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA Apr 29, 2007 12oz bottle: Pours to a clear golden-light amber color with a small to medium sized white, fizzy head that quickly dies. Large bubbles can be seen quickly rising throughout the beer. The aroma is very mild, I stick my nose into the beer in my attempts to discern the various scents. I get light straw, pale malts, apple seeds, very mild fruity pear or peach, and slight hints of yeast. Taste shows more character adding some flavors of granny smith apple, pale malt (with slight hints of bread), a bit of earthy/floral hops and mild yeast character that shows just the mildest hints of esters but they’re really almost non-noticeable. Light bodied, medium carbonated, finishes with a bit of earthy, leafy bitter hops. littlefelix (29), Santa Clarita, California, USA Apr 26, 2007 The aroma was distinct vanilla, reminded me of the A-B Winter Bourbon Cask Ale smell. But the tongue did not detect any vanilla. I was confused. haha. Anyways, the brew wasn’t bad. Tasted small notes of banana, and fruity yeasties, adding to the faint bread like taste. Not bad, I drank a few and enjoyed. But with so many beers to choose from, I don’t know when I’ll buy again. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Apr 17, 2007 Draft at O’Brien’s. Bready aromas off this golden yellow beer. Decent head that faded to a ring. Flavor was matly with some more yeasty bread flavor. Hop finish was decent. Very drinkable. bitbucket (2027), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 16, 2007 Pours a clear gold with a fading white head. Light aroma, with some orange and apple. Light body and medium carbonation. Some bread and fruit in the taste. Finish is somewhat crisp and spicy. I’m not getting too worked up over this one. riversideAK (2650), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 15, 2007 Aroma is sweet and fruity. Beer pours a golden orange, Flavor is very sweet and fruity with some notes of bannana and maybe some pineapple citrus hoppiness. This was an easy drinking beer and I can see why it is their summer ale. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Apr 2, 2007 Bottle. Pours yellow to orange with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and bread malts, some berry fruit. Body is thin and a little watery. Taste is more malt, some fruit and a little earthy hop component. Very easy drinking, decent summer brew, but nothing really out of the ordinary. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA Mar 25, 2007 Deep straw coloration, slightly hazy. Fully diminishing, spritzy thin white head. Light bready malts totally comprise an unexciting, though totally unoffensive aroma. Light earthy hops join the malts and are tied together by a dusty yeast remnant component. Finishes balanced with pleasant acidity and moderate bitterness. Palate is thin but lively. Not bad at all. bhensonb (4189), Woodland, California, USA Mar 17, 2007 LIght malt aroma with a hint of something - but what? LIght amber gold color with no head. Starts with a light rush of malt, medium mouthfeel that thins, then a thin sweetness, and enough hop follows to balance the malt. Not a huge amount of either, but more substantial than many American versions of the style.
