This beer was just not what we expected and came off wrong too style. We think there was some battch issues. The color was a deep golden yellow. There was no head and the skunky taste was right off the bat. This did not sit well tasted awful like it was infected. We hope the next batch will be better. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Apr 18, 2006 From a stubby 12oz. brown bottle with a best before date on the lower right hand side of front label, 05/19/06. Made a decent appearance, poured a clear pale golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, moderate carbonation overall. Had a fruity, cereal grainy nose with a subtle dry spicy, salty hoppiness. A crisp, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Sweet fruity and cereal grainy maltiness upfront, a soft dry hoppiness, mildly bitter, an ale yeastiness and a dry, crisp sweet grainy finish, very tasty.
A very nice summer beer from Alaskan Brewing, if you get a chance, a must try, especially if you like the style.
brew4all (102), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Apr 16, 2006 Nice amber golden pour. Aroma was fruity. The flavor was mild and sweet and had a nice refreshing taste. Overall a descent brew. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Dec 23, 2005 Pours a golden yellow/amber. Aromas of lemon, grains, celery. Flavor is crisp, dry, sweet malt, and a mild hop. jackbocracken (36), Washington, USA Dec 19, 2005 Fairly sweet, mellow flavour. Not too hoppy, but I think it’s a good thing. Hard to describe, but it’s perfect for a hot day. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 8, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma of honey and malt. Flavor of honey, florals, and malt. hezron (600), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA Oct 6, 2005 Thanks to a friend for bringing this back from his vacation. Aroma of corn with some slight lemon-grass notes. Clear with a golden color, little head. Light honey, corn, malty flavor. Slight hint of hops, but very slight. Light body. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 19, 2005 Draught sample at O’Brien’s, San Diego. Clear light golden colour. Aroma is light and fresh, with hints of citrus and honey. Body and flavour are both very crisp and clean - and I don’t mean that in a sarcastic, macro way. It’s a simple, pleasant, refreshing, well-made beer.
