Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

Gold pour with slight haze. Nose is light and fruity with some light maltiness. Flavor is cross between wheat ale and hefeweizen with light fruity yeast esters. Okay, but a little different.

It’s good, but there are better in this style. Everything here is average to above average -- nothing exceptional. I’d like a bit more "slipperiness" that usually accompanies this style, in particular.

Bottle pour. Clear golden with small white head. Light malty aroma with hints of floral and fruit. Crisp clean taste with quickly fading fruit aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 The appearance had a clear golden body, some clingy lacing that spiderwebs. The smell had the malts, light hops, slightly grainy, just a bit of spice, but not long lasting as the smell quickly fades altogether. The taste was mainly sweet, sticky sweet aftertaste, fading sweet finish. On the palate, it sits light, sessionable, carbonation is good for the style and for me. Overall, good for a kolsch styled beer, though a weaker smell than most I’ve had, might have again.

Pours a light gold color with light white head. Aroma has floral, fruits, and some malt notes. Follows onto the palate. Finishes with some grassy hop notes.

Pretty decent for an american Kolsch. Very mild, slight wheaty sweetness. Clear yellow. Tried in Juneau.

355ml bottle from The Beer Cellar. Golden amber colour with a thin wispy head. Easy to drink and a great label.

Poured a clear pale golden colour with a one-finger white foamy head that diminished fairly quickly and laced poorly. Carbonation medium with medium sized bubbles forming trails. Aroma of musty grain and sweet malt but very subdued. Taste sweetish but not much at all. Light body. Smooth, light, clean, crisp and easy to drink. I’m not a kolsch fan but this one is OK.

Pours out a crisp golden color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is slightly fruity, just like the taste. Medium carbonation with a standard kind of taste. Perfectly average bit of suds, nothing special but worth the try.
