Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

A kolsch to fit in with the Germans. Light golden straw color with nice snappy malt flavor. Poured into my favorite Fruh stange, only to have the wind knock it over and smash it into a million pieces. But the beer was very good.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is lightly malty with a touch of floral hops. Light pale malt flavor, rather crisp with a very minimal bitterness. Clean finish. Light bodied with soft gentle carbonation. Decent enough, but not a whole lot if character.

12oz bottle. Bright golden color, clear, small head, looks better than other kölsches I’ve had. Fresh aroma, different enough not to mistake this for another style, definitely a "crafty" smell. Nice pilsner-ish taste, it’s not very complex, but gets points for a decent palace and good carbonation, also a little spice in the taste. I don’t know if it’s a whale, but it’s got a whale tail for sure. Better than expected, still not a huge fan of the style.

Has a nice mellow taste with a more fruity and little hops taste, pours a golden straw color. A drinking beer for sessions ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pilsner-like golden color with a slight orange tint. Faint but pleasant fruity aroma. Crisp and refreshing, floral taste but aftertaste is a bit underwhelming. Doesn’t remain on palate for long. Very solid beer overall!

Poured minimal head on a fairly clear, medium straw colored body. The aroma is a pleasant mix of fruit: apricot, pear and banana. The taste is nice and crisp. Mildly fruity with a mild bitterness. Clean finish. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. A fine beer.

A really nice Kolsch. Had this the same day as a Leinie’s Canoe Paddler and far prefer this version of Kolsch.

Pours a light gold with a small white head. Aroma is faint:caramel, bread, hops is hard to detect, dough, barnyard, and some vanilla. The taste is very well balanced: light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, salty. Palate is unremarkable. A ho-hum brew besides the well balanced flavor. Won’t buy again.

Crisp clean and refreshing are what come to mind with this beer. Could pair with anything tasty pale malt and mild hops work real well.
