COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

Golden yellow out of the bottle with very little head. Sweet, grainy nose. Strong malty flavor, but lots of stale cardboard. This was the last bottle in the beer cooler at a grocery store in Eagle River, Alaska, so it might have been old. I'll re-rate if I'm ever in Alaska in season.

old with white head. Faint malt nose. Initial malt taste immediately turns yeasty, fatty.

Head was rather small, nice light gold color. A little fruit, spice and honey. Finish is clean.

Light gold color, small head. A light bodied kolsch-style ale. Light malts and hops. Slightly spicy and sweet. Nice flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly bitter. Nice interesting beer.

It is a very light beer with a mild, fruity flavor. It had a good sized head, but that dissapeared quickly. An excellent light summer brew.

A hard pour produced NOTHING! No head at all. The brew was a sort of orangish-yellow. Very interesting color. Would have been better if a head was atop it. Smells slightly of mellon (cantaloupe and perhaps a little watermellon), along with a slight hint of strawberry. Tastes a lot less interesting (though still good). The flavor is that of apple juice with a slight sourness that runs through it and is becomes slightly stronger on the end. Light, refreshing, good beer. Probably is much better as I believe my bottles are slightly oxidized (detect a slight cardboard flavor in there).

Fresh??Golden-Oarnge with highly carbonated, short lived, head.Aromas are earthy, and sweet, but really restrained.Palte is awfully, cloying. Flavors are sweet a but unattractive with a toasty, herbal, restrained finish.Very easy to drink, though, probably not true to the style. And I have never had a true Kolsch.

I had this beer all pegged for having some wheat in it. Almost dirty tasting, "earth notes" I suppose. Little to no hops. Sweet, overcarbonated, and boring. Go for the pale when looking for a light beer from Alaskan.
