Old_Mr_Crow (1008), Seattle, Washington, USA May 5, 2006 From the bottle.
Pours a very clear light orange with small headd. The arom is a sour grassy, dusty hops and a bit of grain; the flaavor comes through with a solid warm malt, not dark or rich, just very clearly present if somewhat grainy. Mouthfeel is relatively full and butter/oily consider how easily it goes down.
jcr (833), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Pleasant enough but it lacks the crispness of other Kolsch-style beers. Small white head that disappears. The boy is clear yellow/gold. The aroma is lightly malty with notes of toasted grain and grass. Some light floral notes are below the malt. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish grows a little more bitter. Medium body with a watery texture. Lively carbonation. The medium body and dominant malty sweetness keep this from being something you’d want to take big, quenching sips of. Still, as seemingly uneventful as this is, I wouldn’t turn down another if it were offered.
Gurst (312), Ann Arbor, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2008 Malts come in sweet and low. A kind of funky aroma translates over to taste too, giving it a light, yeasty zest. Nice hops in the finish, very well rounded flavors. Nothing bites, but it all grooves nicely together. travita (716), Lewisville, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle. Color is straw to golden in color with a light white head. Clear. Smell is floral, fruits, some spices, and malts. Taste is pretty light with some malts, hops, grass, fruits. Pretty easy going. colts9016 (180), Oklahoma, USA Aug 11, 2008 Poured in a lager glass, Light colored yellow and slightly cloudy.
Nose: malty, grassy, hops and hints of yeast
Taste. Hallertauer hop comes through with a rounded malt character. and hints of yeast and grass passes through the malt character.
Finish. Slightly bitter and linger for a second or two.
Overall. Kolsch is not my style of beer but it was descent and good drinking.. BeerFanDan17 (365), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2008 Sampled at the Oregon Brewer’s Festival in July 2008. Lighlty malty and smooth. Pours opaque. Nice nose.
