Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

Pours a light gold with a small white head. Aroma is faint:caramel, bread, hops is hard to detect, dough, barnyard, and some vanilla. The taste is very well balanced: light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, salty. Palate is unremarkable. A ho-hum brew besides the well balanced flavor. Won’t buy again.

Darker yellow color and spicy floral hops aroma. Sweet bread taste with light and somewhat sticky mouth feel and carbonation. Fairly clean and refreshing finish.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear amber yellow brew with white head that settles down to a steady scrum. Aroma of light caramel with mild hops. Taste is light caramel up front iwth a late blooming mild bitter at the finish. Ends a little sour with a bit of lingering sweetness. Very enjoyable and refreshing.

I’ll be the first to rate this at a non airport venue, which funny, I have to go there tonight. Draft pour pint at the Safe. Pours an amber color with a thin patchy head. Rich malt flavor with a sweet finish. Not typical for the style for sure. Overall not bad.

Bottle on airplane, clear orangy amber, frothy white head faded. Aroma is richly malty and lightly fruity. Taste is pale malt, a touch of citrus, and yeasty dough. Finish just touched bitter. Palate is light, carbonation is, yes, soft and full. Not bad.

Clear golden pour with a white foamy head. Aroma has a subtle lemongrass and biscuit. Taste had more lemongrass biscuit malt and slight bitterness. Palate is thin crisp and buttery (like all Alaskan brews in my opinion)

Aroma: grain and cereal malts, light floral hops. Appearance: clear gold, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: mild bitters continue, very grainy, some grass and floral hops, soft carbonation. Overall: OK Koelsch, nothing too exciting though. Bottle aboard Alaskan Airlines, SEA-ANC.

On tap on the ferry to Bremington. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of biscuit and bread with a bit of straw underlying. Flavor is mainly straw and grain with a slight crispness.

Bottle on AS 201, 5 hour delayed flight. They were cool and didn’t charge me (or anybody else I suppose, even the loud mouthed douche bag behind me). Ordered the freeride pale, but this is alright. Dated 080715 -- from the future?! Rad. Smells like bread, honey - almost like Teddy Graham’s. Some bubblegum cotton candy thing in there. What is that aroma, so familiar but can’t place it. Paired with crunchy snack mix. Some copper / metal. Looking forward to getting home, enjoying this beer, book, and noise canceling headphones (which were also helpful during the bohemian rhapsody karaoke as we sat at the gate for hour upon hour). Actually truth be told it’s been a pretty relaxing delay.
