Commercial Description:
Based on the traditional style of Kölsch beer brewed in Cologne, Germany. Haines Booth Our Crew loves the chance to hook up with Alaskan fans at festivals! Flavor Profile: Alaskan Summer Ale balances a softly malted palate with the clean freshness of Hallertauer hops. In the tradition of the style, neither overpowers the other. Both hops and malt come together to refresh and renew the palate. The straw-gold color and easy drinkability are an enjoyable way to celebrate summer. History: Brewed in our original brewhouse in 1997, this beer is part of our Rough Draft series and has met success with each limited edition release. The enthusiastic reception led the Brew Crew to bring it to the West Coast as a summer seasonal. Ingredients: Water, malt, hops and yeast with no adjuncts, no preservatives and no pasteurization. Our glacier-fed water originates in the 1,500 square-mile Juneau Ice Field. Crafted from Pale, Munich, Vienna and wheat malts, with Hallertauer hops and our own house yeast.

this one is awfully similar to the Pale, but not quite as good. It’s nice and sweet, however and has some nice toasted notes, crisp palate.

Bottle. A golden color with a diminished off-white head. A wine like aroma with with some bubblegum. A light malt and hop flavor with a little sweetness and a bit of a zing.

Deep, dark golden appearance with a thin white head that fades quickly. Fresh mown grass aroma - but very faint - maybe a little fresh lake water aroma as well. Has ome buttery and salty notes with a bit of biscuity sweetness - but not very pronounced. Easy drinking, smooth palate. Refreshing after an afternoon hike in Alaska.

On Tap at Kahootz A clear pale yellow/golden with a small white head with not much lacing. Aroma was very faint as was the flavors. Wheat, with doughy nd yeast notes..but very subdued. Slightly sweet as well. Feel was very light and smooth. Easy drinking, fairly tasty.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden color with a small white head that lingers for a long time. I like the label. Has a nice hoppy/malt taste, that is also kind of sweet and bitter. Feels really good on the tongue. Overall, this is a pretty tasty and easy to drink beer that doesn’t cost much.

22 oz bottle. Clear golden yellow with a small off white head and visible carbonation. Bready malt aroma with some mellow spicy hops. The taste is sweet and smooth, some toast and wheat flavors. The bitterness is there too but just to help balance the sweetness. This beer is light enough to be refreshing but still packs a lot of flavor and the crisp finish helps lighten it up. Drink ability is great, I could put down a bunch of these on a hot day.

On a scale from lousy to great, this one was just okay. Deep gold in color with a sweet nose. Hints of honey on the palate and crips mouthfeel. However, just a little to bitter for what I’m looking for in a "Summer Ale." Especially in Vegas, I want something nice and refreshing and this one just didn’t quite cut it.
