Flavors of wheat coriander and a hint of citrus with a crisp spiced finish. beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Nov 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with paiste2002. Pours a very hazy gold with a moderate white head that almost made it to mid-glass and left spotty and patchy lace. Mild aroma of wheat grain, orange and spice. The flavor is again wheat grain, orange and coriander that is more discernible in the flavor than it is in the aroma. Refreshing and easy to drink. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 31, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy light amber color with one finger foamy white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of honey, spice, wheat, grass, light floral esters. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of honey, spice, grass, light floral esters, hints of caramel. Generally medium body with a pleasing wheat finish. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 28, 2009 Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Spice and light wheat aroma. Wheat and malt flavor with light citrus and light spice. Medium bodied. Wheat lingers with some earthiness, spice, and light citrus. CanIHave4Beers (831), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 27, 2009 Pours a light hazy pale color with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is bready with floral, orange, and clove notes. It smells kind of sweet but appetizing none the less. Flavor is lemon with a clearly defined orange peel character with some light spiciness. There is a bitterness here that borders on astringent and it’s almost bad, but almost brilliant at the same time... know what I mean? No? I’m not sure I do either. At the same time there is that fruity pebbles thing happening that I’m never terribly fond of unless it’s paired with some other kind of remarkable or unique flavor, here it is not. In this case the fruity pebbles are fairly muted so it’s not cloying or annoying, just kind of there. This is very refreshing. Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Oct 26, 2009 12oz. bottle. Sweet, citric and spicy aroma, plenty of orange and coriander to be found, along with lighter notes of honey, wheat grain, perfume and faint clove. Lightly hazy deep golden color, head is slight and subsiding. Some heavy spice and light hop bitterness to start, turning citric and acidic, finishing with a wash of watery sweetness and fading malt. Thin and a bit harsh on the palate, body is light-medium. A little overly sweet, and not well integrated. Underwhelming. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2009 The look is clear, with an off white head, and a golden color. The smell is wheat, sweet, citrus, some spices, and fruits. The taste is sweet, citrus, and fruits. Ok. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), trace hops (flowers), with light notes of melon rind, orange, coriander.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter, unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Oof...pretty unpleasant to drink thanks to abrasive bitterness (perhaps from spices) and a dirty aftertaste. Not much in the nose.
