COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known As Alaskan Belgian Wit

Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

Nice to have Alaskan finally available in Texas! Fingers crossed for the smoked porter. In the meantime, this is a good but not exceptional white.

Aroma is spices, wheat grain and citrus. The flavor is spices, citrus and a decent maltiness.

Bottle. Pours a rich cheddar orange with a nose of spice (cinammon, nutmeg, teragon) and hay. Flavor is fresh barnyard and slight lemon/orange zest. Average mouthfeel. Very refreshing; I’ll have this beer again.

I got no problems with this beer (or brewery) - nice spring/summer beer. malt aroma; light pour - taste was wheat; slight tart/sweetness and ended with a carbonation and slightest of spice - nice stuff; glad to have this avail in TX!!

Tap at Square Cow El Paso, TX-pours bright orange hazy with a small white fizzy head with aggressive carbonation. nose is wierd-kind of like candied orange peals and grains. slightly sweet flavors of sweet sugary orange peals and slightly grainy pale malts. This seems like a wheat for the masses, definately an american wheat, not a belgian wit for sure. simple, boring and another chic beer to get at this bar (which features 100 tap, but nothing special whatsoever!

Pale yellow with lots of carbonation and a small thin head. Bland thin taste with not much of anything. Not sure where the coriander and orange peel is.

Hazy, soft yellow, decent white head. Nose is dominated by wheat bread & a hint of orange.Dough on the tongue, with spice(?) and carbonation in the finish. A pretty restrained version of a white

Pours a hazy straw color with a moderate creamy white head. Aroma of orange, coriander, marzipan, white chocolate, bread, and not much yeast character. Flavor of bread dough, light orange and spice, grass and earth, but I’m again surprised at the lack of yeast presence. Finishes with grass and earth and maybe a lemon hint. Medium to light bodied, creamy and spritzy mouthfeel, but overall a bit boring. Witbiers gotta have a good yeast presence!

Tap at Flying Saucer Houston. Clear gold with a small whitish head. Weak aroma of wheat and some spice. There’s very little flavor here as well. It’s a bit like a generic pale lager with a small amount Belgian yeast and coriander. Light bodied. Not awful, but very boring.

This beer is not good. Light crummy barnyard beer with some spices from your cupboard thrown in at the end didn’t even blend in. Yuck! This is bad. Apparently it sells though because their still making it. To the owners of Alaskan Brewing please do something about this beer?
