COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known As Alaskan Belgian Wit

Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

Tang colored, slight haze, thin cream layer. Nose fills with coriander with a light backing of wheat. Flavor is again predominantly coriander with dashes with a wheaty fullness. A hint of orange melts into the sensory experience toward the 2nd half of the bottle. Drinkable, refreshing, but mostly a one trick pony, coriander-wheat beer.

Pours a nice rich golden color with a decent head (though it lacks retention). The aroma carries over some of the citrus and coriander scents. It tastes very similar to Hoegaarden but has a less pungent, mellower flavor to it. The description hits the flavor on the head other than that. Seems to have a higher than normal carbonation but I feel it works for the style.

2/12/09 on draft at the wile rover. Aroma is candilike orange with a slight note of sugar and a doughy, bready note. Appearance is hazy gold with a medium maintained white head; quite clear versus most wits. Flavor is soft wheat malt forward with a true orange citrus tang, low sweetnes, a rather faint spice character and a fresh bread background. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy, medium bodied, with a medium grainy carb texture and low acidic tang. Overall, a unique twist on the classic Belgian Wit that challenges the “candy beer” stereotype.

Big fruit and spice nose. THin bready wheat malt character with a dose of medicinal spices along with big fruity accents. Thin and generally bland.

Pours somewhat cloudy, unlike most witbiers out there. White head thins out quickly. Nose is the best feature of this beer - ripe orange, maybe orange popsicle too. Palate has a wheat malt focus up front to midway through, some pleasant fruity flavors, dash of sourness, and disappointing on the finish.

Bottle. Poured pale yellow with thick white head. Little lacing. Faint aroma of coriander. Thin flavour, a little bread, a very little citrus. Very thin spice finish.

Yellow/golden with medium head. Light bready malts with citrus and light spice. Would be nice on a hot summer day, but it’s a bit weak all around. Clean with no off flavors.

Clear creamy golden with a cottony white head. Strong bold aroma, very coriander forward which to me comes off as dish soapy in the large amount. Refreshing and clean, still actually tastes lemon soapy to me. So while my rating is not too favorable, others may really enjoy it.

Bottle from BevMo. Hazy golden color with a slight white head. Light spice aroma. Sort of medium bodied. Rather malty for a wit. Not exactly exciting. Drinkable. Might grow on me.
