COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known As Alaskan Belgian Wit

Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

slightly cloudy light amber pour - aroma of musty yeast and slight orange - flavors of biscuit (slight) and very light orange followed by a bready malty aftertaste

12-ounce bottles in a pint glass. A bit stronger on the spices than some other white ales, in a nice way. Only problem is it does hide some of the wheat flavor. Otherwise, a very flavorful beer.

Tap at Mod.

Gold-amber pour. Insipid, sweetish ale with not a lot of wheat beer character and even less by way of distinguishing personality. Nope nope nope.

Too clear, too dark (light amber), and not enough carbonation for a wit. There is a low coriander aroma combined with wheat aromas. There is a hint of citrus, not similar to bitter orange. The taste is a bit too bitter for a wit, but ok if not judged within the wit style. Too sharp for a wit. Not a bad beer but just a bad wit.

Murky golden color, thin white head when poured. Very slight aroma of wheat and spice. Refreshing and crisp aftertaste. Great summer beer that pairs well with a good fish fry.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a very murky amber with a short lived white head. The aroma is of ale, but not of Belgian ale. The flavor is cloyingly sweet with a touch of coriander/orange peel, but again, not at all Belgian. For me, change the yeast strain, reduce the caramel malts and let the spices shine through. There are much better Witbiers out there than this, but it is certainly drinkable and inoffensive.

pours a semi-murky gold with a medium white head. Aroma is wheat and faint spice. Taste is bitter, some fruit and spices. Some spice on the quick dry finish. Not bad.

Alaskan White is a re-interpretation, according to American sensibilities, of Witbier. The beer is heavy on the coriander in the aroma and taste. The appearance is also a bit golden and clearly filtered - unfortunate for this style. It could be summed up as a heavier rendition of Blue Moon. Not bad, not great.

from Apothibières - light hazy bronze beer without foam; aroma of cardamom, orange peels and tea; solid but very subtle carbonation; medium-bodied, lively palate; light acidic and gently sweet; decently dry wheaty, peachy finish with lingering notes of cardamom

A slightly hazy, yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is a little spice along with wheat. It has a light body with crisp texture and lively carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a slightly dry finish.
