Commercial Description:
Formerly known As Alaskan Belgian Wit

Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

12oz. bottle. Sweet, citric and spicy aroma, plenty of orange and coriander to be found, along with lighter notes of honey, wheat grain, perfume and faint clove. Lightly hazy deep golden color, head is slight and subsiding. Some heavy spice and light hop bitterness to start, turning citric and acidic, finishing with a wash of watery sweetness and fading malt. Thin and a bit harsh on the palate, body is light-medium. A little overly sweet, and not well integrated. Underwhelming.

On tap at the Arctic Club Hotel bar in Seattle. I cannot believe the low score for this brew. Hazy amber with a long white head. Nose is sweet honey and hints of grass/hay. Yeasty. Taste is very light and crisp. Light fruitiness. Quick finish. Great session beer for a wedding when wine was all being served. Underrated.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, dulled orange-golden color; off-white head with decent retention. Basic caramel and candy sugar in the aroma: rather sticky, slightly bland; a touch of tangible wheatiness. Medium mouthfeel: a fair amount of wheat and white pepper and bland caramel notes upfront; a bit sticky, heavy; relaxed carbonation; plenty of caramel and candy sugar, but not enough acidity, carbonation, or dryness to carry things; disappointing wit. Medium finish: light caramel malts, candy sugar, and toasty malts; nicely balanced finish.

Bottle from Valley Farm Market. Light amberish in color. Aroma is fairly grainy with a little spiciness. Smells like a regular wheat beer. Crisp clean flavors. Good graininess with a little spice. Not overly spiced like some wits. Pretty refreshing and easy drinking.

Draught at Brouwer’s Café:   Pale golden, slight haze, light carbonation, sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Wheat malt nose, very subtle spicing.   Very much like an American Wheat on the tongue.   Spiciness is very soft to non-existant.   This is moreso an American Wheat than a Belgian Witbier. Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Clean, but way too American like.   Needs to be much more spicy to be considered a Belgian.   A little cereal like on the finish.   Tiz okay, but very average and very American.

Just nothing here to write home about. Straw colored pour with a fizzy white head that disappears instantly. Aroma is lemon peel. Flavor is citrusy but without the depth and spice of good witbiers.

( 22oz bottle thanks to travita) Pours very clear yellow with no head but good lacing. Nose of alcohol, cloves, and spices. Taste is wheat, spicy, a little syrupy with a dry finish.

Light hazy, yellow pour, thin white head. Nose is faintly spicy and fruity. Coriander. Hop notes are light but they are there if you try. A touch overcarbonated which leads to a thin mouthfeel. Spices are much more distinct upon sipping than in the nose, almost a bit too much for such a thin beer. Dry finish that prickles with carbonation. Can’t shake this soapy flavor though, it bothered me from the start of the beer to the finish, something strange there.
