Funknmilla (525), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Dec 11, 2006 Updated: Jun 19, 2008 2006 Bottle...Many thanks to Milla ..:)....and this beer is dedicated to my Bougie...so the aroma is pretty mild..i get a malty smell and a bit of caramel... and the smell that I couldn’t place at first is the spruce tips...color is a deep amber...the texture is silky and thick...I have never tasted spruce tips in a beer before...its pretty interesting like nibbling on a tree branch and washing it down with a beer...:)...Aroma=5...Appearance=4...Flavor=5...Palate=4...Overall=14
----->2007 Bottle, enjoyed 6/2008.....A nutty pine aroma...light copper-amber body with a beige head...creamy on first sip--smooth...syrupy aromas and mouth feel...watered down tree sap (in a good way)...add some sugar, and poof Alaskan winter...a medicinal herbaceous quality to it...its good, I wish I had a bomber of it...Interesting, unique, and tasty...Rating reflects 2007 Bottling
alraicercsu (106), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a copper color with a nice white head. Smells malty and a bit floral. Tastes spicy with a nice sweet flavor. HoppyGuy (105), USA Sep 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is light, a bit floral and of toffee and caramel. Flavor is a bit spicy, with some sweetness from some berry. The spruce is there, but is an undertone. Just enogh hops to make it interesting, but not enough to drive people away. I’d like to pair this brew with pork tenderloin prepared with a marianberry reduction sauce. bager (2060), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottle thanks to Zack. Almost clear and golden in colour with a medium sized head. Interesting but a bit weird. Notes of malt, marmelade, spruce, spices, hops and berries. Theis (2212), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 27, 2008 Bottle at home - tasting. Clear golden - white head. Spicy, berries, knækbrød, dryness, high dryness, hoppy, sweetness, marmelade, raspberries, spruce...... a bit wierd. hittheroad (1), San Jose, California, USA does not count May 27, 2008 Initial flavour of sweet blueberries without a tart aftertaste. A bit of spruce evens out the flavour. The finish is hoppy in an inoffensive manner--good for those who like flavourful beer without a heavy hops taste.
