Bottle courtesy of theisti (via John Bryan of Boulevard Brewing). Pours iced tea brown with a thin, rapidly diminishing off-white head. The aroma is a pleasant spicy, toasted malt. I detect notes of pale and Munich along with evergreen/spruce and lightly spicy noble hops. Light to medium-bodied with assertive, yet soft carbonation and a crisp, clean finish. The flavor is an interesting combination of Munich and pale malt, light spruce and caramel, ending with a crisp, clean finish. This is what I would imagine you’d get if you created a hybrid of a marzen, a pilsner and an underhopped pale ale. Uniquely tasty and quite drinkable, if this was sold locally, I’d probably buy a sixer or two every winter. Thanks again for sharing this one with me, Tim.

Jul 22, 2008 Bottle thanks to Zack. Almost clear and golden in colour with a medium sized head. Interesting but a bit weird. Notes of malt, marmelade, spruce, spices, hops and berries.

May 27, 2008 Bottle at home - tasting. Clear golden - white head. Spicy, berries, knækbrød, dryness, high dryness, hoppy, sweetness, marmelade, raspberries, spruce...... a bit wierd.

does not count  May 27, 2008 Initial flavour of sweet blueberries without a tart aftertaste. A bit of spruce evens out the flavour. The finish is hoppy in an inoffensive manner--good for those who like flavourful beer without a heavy hops taste.

May 25, 2008 Pours a clear golden with a white head. Very dry and sweet. Aromas of blueberries without theis sourness. Lots of floral spruce aromas. Medium bodied. Dry floral finish.

May 15, 2008 Sample in the Alaskan tap room. This brew pours a hazy, ruddy amber color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of pine, hops and fruit. Medium-bodied with a piney/spruce (prevents scurvy!) character, along with fresh fruit, hops and malt flavors. Touches of spice are present too. The finish is hoppy and malty with a fruit and spice aftertaste. Decent overall.
