1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, - FEB 13, 2005
Swillfest ’05 This was one of the more drinkable beers on the night. Straw colour. A little biscuity, grainy aroma. Neutral wonderbread flavour.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 reebtogi (2159) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 22, 2011
355mL can poured pale straw color with small white head and tiny spots of lacing. This beer is very thin bodied with very malty taste and a terrible cheap hop aftertaste. This is a beer that you would take on a camping trip and probably still not enjoy it.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Powertrip (841) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 5, 2011
Had this on tap at Rip’s Pub - Crowfoot in Calgary, AB on 05/01/2011. They had it labeled at "Doghouse" but when asked who makes it, they said it was Alberta Genuine Draft. Colour: Light yellow, minimal head. Nose: Wheaty....but flat and without depth. Small hint of vinegar and little smackling of vanilla. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium sour, light bitter. The sweetness isn’t completely sugary and does display a touch of caramel taste, but again a slight vinegary sourness, and an the wheat is nowhere to be seen. I think there might have been a tap-related issue but I did not expect an award-winning experience either.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 bulldogops (311) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 13, 2010
Oh AGD. Reviewed straight from bright red can, aesthetically pleasing.
Poured some out to note clear, yellowy colour. Medium carbonation.
Aroma is corn and grass. Taste is exactly the same, with a bubbly mouthfeel of plain, grainy beer. Certainly one of the better dollar beers, but nothing one should ever drink seriously.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 HermanW (875) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2010
0,3 L can. Slap biertje weinig van alles.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cirrhosis (931) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 17, 2009
Review done straight out of the can as I wait in my friend’s apartment hallway for him to come home. I’ll assume this looks like beer because the can is not see through. Smells of metallic corn, mild hay and some less than impressive hops actually not that bad for a bargain beer. Taste is light and crisp with zero skunk or rotten malt flavours. Light grassy malts with a very mild metallic/hop finish, the sweet after taste lingers forever. For the price this aint that bad, I’m not saying this was an awesome beer but for cheap ass bargain canned swill this was drinkable.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Cavie (3249) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2009
Clear yellow. Smells of body odor. Not great. Tastes of aged hamburger and sweat. Glad I only got a taster.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1697) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 27, 2009
ADG.... er... OK.
Ya, it’s pretty much junk but what do you expect from something called Alberta Genuine Draft? At least there is no attempt to make this look like something it’s not. Yellowish beer producing almost no head - just drink it out of the can. Grain and lots of corn and some metallic aroma, taste is not much different except for some bleck hops. Thin mouthfeel, highly carbonated. Goes down pretty well. It’s cheap!
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 patricks110 (901) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 13, 2009
Pretty plain, golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, slightly grassy. A little skunky bit of taste, nothing really unique. Overall, boring and plain.
1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 TheHulk (484) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 6, 2009
There really is no aroma or appearance worth saying anything about. Flavour and palate are almost flatlining but there is a little something there reminiscant of a real beer. Nothing offensive about the taste, it would be an ideal candidate for a long camping trip.
1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Cole (919) - , Alberta, CANADA - MAR 6, 2009
From 330ml can. Very crisp smooth and light . Aroma of wet grass and manure. Good carbonation. Appearance is clear and dull. It dosen’t taste bad but it sure isn’t good.
