From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild orange fruity to grape notes. Light leathery touch, distinct nelson hops. Bitter and lasting fruity impression into the far finish.

A: The pour is a golden amber color with a big soapy white head and some mild lacing. S: A nice beginning to the nose with plenty of citrus/grapefruit hops with a bit of a lemon zest. There’s a fair amount of grassy hop aroma to this beer as well. Not too much in the way of malt, but maybe some bread. T: The flavor is sort of harsh at times, especially on the front end. A bit of tropical fruits like pineapple, but that quickly fades to grass and lemon zest. There’s a bit of a grain husk flavor which provides an additional, but unwelcome, bitterness. M: Just about medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation. D: This seemed to have promise on the nose and on my first couple sips, but it soon became apparent this wasn’t going to be a winner.

Draft. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of citrusy hops and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grassy and grapefruity hops, leading to a very bitter finish.

On tap. Pours a clear pale amber with a small off-white head. Fresh and citrusy aroma hops in the nose. Quite full-bodied, some caramel and malts with a dry finish and a solid hop bite. 050709
