3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 StefanSD (1585) - Lakeside, USA - OCT 24, 2009
On tap at the Orange CA, bar. Copper pour with a small white head. The nose was mixed citrus (oranges and grapefruit) with a hint of caramel. The flavor was more of the same, plenty hops manifesting a character of oranges and lemons set in a caramel backdrop. The palate was a bit thin and extra fizzy, fizzy almost to the point of distraction. This was the only real negative. The finish was short and clean. Overall: In a blind tasting I might have guessed that this was an IPA, very well done, thanks Orange crew.

Draft. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and grassy hops, leading to a dry, bitter, and hay-like finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopdog (7037) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2008
On tap at the Alcatraz location in Anaheim, CA.
Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, with lighter citrus. Tastes of caramel and the same light citrus. Nothing really stood out on this, but it is a beer that you can drink. Maybe the one I would choose to drink if I found myself at this brewpub all the time.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - AUG 18, 2002
A Pale Ale with a beautiful color - just slightly lighter than the red, and dark enough to not be confused with a light beer. The aroma is the first thing you remember, while not the strongest I’ve tried, it’s a great start to this ale. The hops are evident in just the right amount - not too strong to turn away drinkers, but enough to keep the "lite" beer drinkers away. Overall, this may be my favorite of the Alcatraz bunch, and a fine beer for a chain-type brewery/restaurant.
