haddonsman (1162), Derby, Derbyshire, England Jul 21, 2006 Cask (gravity) Leicester BF. A staggering disappointment for an Alcazar brew; perhaps a key example of When Festival Beers Go Bad. Practically rancid. leaparsons (3798), Leicester, Leicestershire, England May 1, 2006 Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. This version was 3.9%. Amber gold with a small white head. Aromas are sweet caramel malts with citrus and hints of pine. Dry with some pepper. Flavours are caramel malts with sweet pine. Syrupy, sweet fruitiness with some spices. Has grapefruit bitterness towards the finish. Dry and bitter on the aftertaste. Tasty for its strength. maeib (3816), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 21, 2006 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Leicester BF. A golden coloured beer brimming with floaties. The aroma is full of diacetyl and sweet toffee. The taste also has loads of diacetyl together with some furniture polish. Very poor for this brewery.
