Again another brewery that I expect to have a good beer from but on this occasion I was disappointed. Pale gold, eggy nose with some hay/hop. Thin in mouth with thin quicly disappearing hoppy dry finish chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Sep 3, 2005 Cask (handpump), GBBF, August 2005. Golden, clean and grassy. The hops are herbaceous rather than floral. Odd how this beer divided opinions. I go down the middle. Entirely fit for the purpose but, with so many similar beers at the festival, this didn’t make any overwhelming impression (good or bad) on my tastebuds. I’d drink this again happily but wouldn’t actively seek it out.
madsberg (4377), Bangalore, India Aug 6, 2005 Cask @ GBBF 2005: Golden coloured. Hazy. Fluffy off white head. Fruit, horseblanket and sweetness in the aroma. flavour of fruit and herbs. Is quite fresh and crisp. Light bitter and fruity in the end. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 6, 2005 Grapefruit citrus hops, with cereal malts and sulfur in the nose. Hazy golden body with low, white, large-bubbled head that recedes to ring. Lightly malty flavour with fair balancing bitterness has some citrus and sulfurous notes. Medium-light body with low carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005. maeib (4106), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Aug 7, 2005 Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. A bright golden coloured beer with a good citrus hop aroma. The taste has some good hoppiness but the malts taste a little past it. Not fresh enough for me.
