Cask @ Reading Beer Festival. Buttery black beer hat is smooth and tastes ashy. Unremarkable dark mild.

Cask@Reading BF. Nice soft mouthfeel. Lightly roasted flavour, with some soft cutting acidity, an innofensive dark mild.

Gravity at Reading Beer Fest, with Kook, Duff, Chris_o and Joeh. Red hued black, no head. Medium paced black beer. Friendly easy drinking, dark, sweet and balanced. Nice, but not greatly challenging.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2005
Deep brown colour with a ruby tinge. Not as dark as some. I thought I picked up some smoky notes lurking beneath the roast malt on the nose, but I was suffering from a heavy cold, so I was struggling with aromas. The palate was dry and had a slightly mineral/ashy consistency (which I found in a number of the milds at this festival). Light bodied. A decent, traditional, easy drinking mild but nothing really leapt out. Then it is a mild so it wouldn’t be fair to criticise it for not being an attention-grabber. Cask (gravity), Reading beer festival 2005.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - MAY 1, 2005
Roasty grain aroma. Black with no head. Roast flavour dominates with some cara and choc notes. Quite dry. Medium bodied, ok.
