3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (9860) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 15, 2007
Bottle @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a muddy pale orange with a small creamy white head. Aroma is hoppy with lots of flowers and a little pine and a little background caramel. Nice dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very bitter and dry. Good bity biscuitness and pilsner/caramel sweetness behind the flowery bitterness. A wonderful, nice, english IPA.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DruncanVeasey (6113) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2011 1) Bottled, months ago. Shining gold with white lace. Big, resiny, sappy aroma drenched with citrus. Whole hop leafiness with a hint of pinecone. Juicy fibrous pineapple and blood orange. Lip-smacking hop juiciness leading to a quinine-bitter finish. Dangerous refreshment ,and an aromatically fruity IPA.
2)Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Orange gold with a loose foamy top. Aroma labrador and soft slushy fruit; melon and green apple. Dominant oak, stillness, TCP, diluted wash of orange . I like the oak but it’s weird in a pale, IPA-like effort. 535312.

Bottle. Light amber colour with a thick, rocky head. English hoppiness in the nose- the mix of flowers and grass. Flavours start on the sweet side, and remains there, despite the grassy hops. Not my favourite, unfortunately.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (6042) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 3, 2007
I had very high expectations for this one after loving Jaipur and Hophead and was not quite let down, but I did not like it as much as the preceding glorious brews. Clearish golden ale wearing a small white cover. Highly aromatic with strong floral and limey notes sparkled on by fresh cut grassiness and an out of place acetone tang. Pleasant despite the off-tone and brightly clear flavours in mouth, supported by a medium body. Well carbonated for a mostly thin, bready cask ale.
