Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 20, 2007 Updated: Apr 19, 2007Cask at GBBF 2006. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted coffee, a nice expresso roasted, combined with light notes of chocolate. THe flavor is sweet with strong notes of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt, towards the end a slight acidity from the coffee mixes in with bitterness from the roasted malt. Nice body for a 5% ABV beer.
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate, and so is the flavor, but here mixed with light acidic notes from the hard roasted malt. [7/5/6/3/12] omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 9, 2006 [Cask at GBBF] Black. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Sweetish and creamy with plenty of coffee Chocoalte and roasty malt that lingers well into a milky finish. Soft and balanced. Fills your whole mouth with flavour. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 8, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a nice, beige head. Very burned aroma. Medium body with accents of burned malt and then some odd saline and acidic accents. Starts promising but ends rather unfortunate. Something is not quite right here. 040307 joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 6, 2007 Bottle.
Black coloured with a beige head.
Light roasted aroma of fruits and coffee.
Light roasted flavour of fruits and coffee. duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 11, 2006 Bottle. Quite a good effort i thought. Lots of mocha/roasty/chocolatey characters. NOt the biggest of bodies, but theres enough flavour in this one to keep me interested, and there is a lot of length in the flavour. Really pleasant.
