Draft @ the brewpub. Black pour tan head, shown no light is getting through. Hoppy pine, earthy, light citrus aroma notes accompany some chocolate and roasted malt. This is a well done compilation of a well hopped stout, sweet yet bitter and delicious. Darkness?.

Draft. Pours a thick black body with a tan head. Very roast y body reminds me immediately of surly darkness. Bitter hop tones, light pine, and roasted malt. Coffee and chocolate malt, very thick and full bodied. Overall excellent beer, its a treat to taste another marriage of hops and malt, and get it right.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured black with a dark brown head that lasted throughout the beer and laced thickly. Flavor was full of roasted malt with some smoke, chocolate and backing hoppiness. There was also a decent amount of alcohol on the nose. Flavor was similar with chocolate and roasted malts being backed by pine hops with a decent amount of alcohol in the finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Glouglouburp (4772) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2010
In short: A mega-hoppy ultra heavy roasted and chocolaty stout. A great BIG beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head
In long: Nose is full of piney and resinous hops on top of a chocolate cake. Taste is intense. Big floury chocolate cake, lots of black bitter black chocolate (the bars with high cacao %), some dates and figs. Body is full, almost too full, could be served in a plate with a fork. Very assertive hops, very resinous and piney. Bitterness level is high. A bit dry in the finish. As heavy as this beer is (and IT IS heavy) I had no sweetness sensation from start to finish. Ok, this is a tasty beer, very tasty. Yet another big American beer named after a form of demon while countless Pokemons are still waiting to have big beers named after them.
