3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewpub - Poured a quite dark reddish brown in color with a medium foamy light tan head that hung around. Aroma is of roasted malts, caramel and plenty of hops. Flavor follows pretty closely... lots of hops up front with a medium bitter bite that is nicely balanced by a good malt understructure. I am glad that John brought this one back... really good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint at the brewpub. Very, very dark, almost black and opaque with a nice bit of lasting foam and good lacing...nutty with hints of vanilla in the nose and some sharp late aromatic hops...creamy body with underlying sharp nut-oil bitterness, and a long strong finish.
