On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with a white head. Aroma is super hoppy with hop oils, citrus, grassy hops, and tropical fruits. Flavor of caramel malt and again, tons of hops (citrus and bitter). Very tasty and plenty hoppy for a pale ale (well that’s what it’s advertised as at the brewery).

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a near clear gold with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was full of grass, pine and a bit of resin with a nice sweet grain backbone. Flavor started with pine and grass with a growing note of resin that was balanced nicely by a grain backbone.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (5568) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 27, 2010
In short: A very intense, very aromatic, very bitter, fruity and grassy blonde IPA. Wow!
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a long-lasting small white head
In long: The strong mega-hoppy nose shows a lot of tropical fruits, lemongrass, grapefruits, front lawn grass. An pleasant but unusual aroma for Simcoe/Chinook based IPA. The beer is well malted but the bready honyed malts provide only a solid body are totally dominated by the intense hopping. VERY intense hopping. Grapefruits, tropical fruits, hops resin, grass juice. Sensation of biting on a green hop pellet. Sticky long-lasting bitterness. This is a very tasty beer, very bitter, very sharp. Almost too tasty to be sessionnable. Yet another kick-ass hoppy beer from The Alchemist. A strange beer name but there’s a story behind it. The brewer was talking to one of his friend about their friend Al (a real jerk) and his slutty wife. He told his friend “Fuck Al, Bang her!” just as Al walked in… “Oh no, nothing, just talking about my new beer.” True story.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 craftycarl21 (2025) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 16, 2010
On tap at Vermont Brewfest 2010. Amber pour, decent sized frothy white head. Aroma holds tons of earth, dry citrus hop, and lots of spruce and pine presence. Flavor is straight-forward-- tons of hops, and well done, but not balanced. If you don’t like IPAs, this is not a good starter beer. I like it, but not super complex. Does what it’s trying to do quite well though.
