Pours from a can a very hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is subtle orange and pine. Taste is straight grapefruit and pine with a little floral after taste. Leaves a bitter after taste.

Blind tasting, of Double IPAs & Single IPAs.

List of Double IPAs, in prefered order: The Crusher, Heady Topper, Pliny The Elder, Deviant Dale’s

List of Single IPAs, in prefered order: Focal Banger, Grapefruit Sculpin, Moralité/Blind Pig

A – Hazy yellow with thick head, head lasted longer than other IPAs.

S – Super dank and loaded with tropical fruits, smells more than Heady Topper.

T – Loaded with hops, hops and hops. Simcoe like and very very tropical fruity.

M – A bit more full than other IPAs, almost like it’s oats in it.

O – Best IPA I’ve had, aroma out of the can is stronger than most double IPAs even.

1/IX/14 - 1Pt. can @ home - BB: no date on the can (2014-967) Thanks to JefVerstraete for sharing the can!

Little cloudy pale yellow to light beige beer, big creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: citrus, sourish, floral, bit earthy, pineapple, lemony, lemon drops. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, lots of citrus, peaches, bit grassy, some alcohol, straightforward bitterness. Aftertaste: piny, lots of citrus, very grassy, bitter.

Sample at first sunday. Hot damn I love Alchemist IPAs. More subtle than heady but I think I prefer the subtley these days. Lemon and tangerine tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Later in the palate is a little more grassy and herbal again, slight citrus bitterness. Delicious.

500 ml. can sampled @ Pure Apricot Tasting. Thanks! Sampled side-by-side The Crusher / Heady Topper / Rapture / Focal Banger. Heady Topper came out last unanimously. Bit Heady Topper-light in a good way, this one tasted a bit like a mix of the previous 3 beers which seems logical since this one is Citra & Mosaic and The Crusher was Citra only I believe & Rapture was Mosaic, yeast is probably same as Heady Topper. Lighter hazy citrus, creamy white head. Huge cheese, citrus, creamy raw hop nose. Taste is cheese, light Heady Topper-like floral bitterness and touch of grass, creamy, dank, more balanced & bit subdued, fruity, pear,… Creamy, very easy to drink, seems light compared to others but that is probably just the ABV. Better than Heady Topper but not on par with either The Crusher or my favourite Rapture.

Fresh can from trade with Matt. Pours yellow with some small particles floating around and with a white head. Aroma is just BOOMING with grapefruit, citrusy notes, ginger, unripe pineapple, mango and just a tiny bit of breadyness in the background. Taste of fresh and tropical citrus fruits. Just WOW! ginger, pineapple, mango, grapefruit and with a hint of mint in the aftertaste. Very bitter, crispy and freaking refreshing.

Can shared with rasmusott and Vestergaard. The feast is on! Pours a hazy (and dirty) yellow with a white medium head. Aromas of strong grapefruit, citrus. Slight ginger-like bitey notes. Some subtle bread and slight sour yoghurt. Taste in grape-bitter up front, some grassy fresh hops, tropical unripe pineapple, pretty minty and very grapefruit finish. Great great IPA.

Can from trade. Have to admit that i poured it into a glass. Fresh stuff. Pours yellow, hazy with a white head. Aroma has huge crispy grape fruit and citrus. Almost ginger-like bite. Fresh hoppy and exotic fruits. Taste has extremely minty fresh hops. Citrus, some pine, pear, grape fruit peel, unripe pineapple, A sweet winegum sweetness. Has a little bit hay or grains. From can. Hazy golden color with a white head. Strong aroma of resinous hops. Pine cone and lemon lime soda. Honeyed grass. A bit of compost pile dirt. Similar flavor. Sticky honeyed bread and a bit of graham cracker. Big, boisterous dank hops. Lemon and herb. Pine wood on the dry finish. Sort of sticky. Medium body, active carbonation. Yep, very nice.
