josarah (72), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA Sep 29, 2008 Draft at brewpub, deep copper color, malty aroma. Great toasty, roasty ,malty beer. This batch had a much lower ABV (5.3) and the IBU’s 25. The perfect autumn beer. hophead75 (1680), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 7, 2007 Harvest 2007 Description: A German inspired Aale brewed with a blend of six malts and a nice balance of hops. 5.5 % ABV 25 IBU
On tap at the brewpub.
Brown in color with some amber highlights. Small tan head that lasts throughout most of the beer. Aroma is fresh and malty with caramel, toasted grain, bread, some light fresh resinous hops, and a touch of chocolate and even perhaps roast. Taste is malty, with caramel, bready, light notes of chocolate with a nice light fresh floral hop presence that nicely balances it out. Light to moderate bitterness throughout. Body is nice- medium to full for the style, lightly chewy. Finishes malty with lingering light bitterness. well done. Mad_Indian (822), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 29, 2006 On draft pours a coppery color . Thin head. Aroma was sweet but the finish was too bitter for my taste. I was actually dissapointed.
Drank this with stegosaurus stegosaurus (1883), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2006 On draft pours copper with a decent size white head. Aroma of sweet malts and earthy hops. The flavor is sweet up-front with a mild bitter finish. Ok brew, drinkable. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 22, 2005 Orange citrus, leafy, fresh hop nose. Clear copper coloured body with large bubbled, low, long lasting white head that coats the glass. Toasty, biscuity malts with fresh, earthy, leafy, orange citrus hop flavour and a fair bitterness that keeps it from cloying. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation and soft, cask-like texture. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.
