Draft at brewpub, deep copper color, malty aroma. Great toasty, roasty ,malty beer. This batch had a much lower ABV (5.3) and the IBU’s 25. The perfect autumn beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: Nutty caramelized malts and grassy eathy bitter hops. Unusual fun beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy light brown body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose has a lot of fresh grassy hops. Taste has a very unusual malt bill for a harvest hop beer. Very nutty taste (hazelnuts) with caramel, earth and even some bananas. Then comes the very grassy and somewhat resinous hops with a long bitterness of medium intensity. This is a fun and different beer. I’m sure alchemist could make an even better Harvest Ale if they went with a more standard malt bill but I appreciate the originality nonetheless. All in all another good beer from Alchemist. I have many fond memories of this place. I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I drank my first pint at this brewpub.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
09–on tap-pours a retaining light tan head that laces and hazy copper color. Aroma is sweet citrus/pine, secondary medium malt. Taste is equal but unbalanced peat, medium malt, sweet citruspine/herbal hops with some bite. Comes across as a red crossed with a Scottish ale.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber pour, tending to brown. Thick and sticky tan head. The nose is kind of strange with a little bit of cocoa underlying a soft herbal spiciness. There is a fairly dank piny hop nose with some soft sweet caramelly malts. The hop freshness really comes through. It’s an unusual take on the harvest ale, but it does work. Sort of a hoppy brown, but it works.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Harvest 2007 Description: A German inspired Aale brewed with a blend of six malts and a nice balance of hops. 5.5 % ABV 25 IBU
On tap at the brewpub.
Brown in color with some amber highlights. Small tan head that lasts throughout most of the beer. Aroma is fresh and malty with caramel, toasted grain, bread, some light fresh resinous hops, and a touch of chocolate and even perhaps roast. Taste is malty, with caramel, bready, light notes of chocolate with a nice light fresh floral hop presence that nicely balances it out. Light to moderate bitterness throughout. Body is nice- medium to full for the style, lightly chewy. Finishes malty with lingering light bitterness. well done.

On draft pours a coppery color . Thin head. Aroma was sweet but the finish was too bitter for my taste. I was actually dissapointed.

Orange citrus, leafy, fresh hop nose. Clear copper coloured body with large bubbled, low, long lasting white head that coats the glass. Toasty, biscuity malts with fresh, earthy, leafy, orange citrus hop flavour and a fair bitterness that keeps it from cloying. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation and soft, cask-like texture. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.
