4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Stupid hoppy aroma and flavor. Spruce boughs and dried mango stuffed into your face. Nice and dry for a double IPA, but not astringent or grating. Just superb.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 Original rating: 2/4/2011: 7/4/7/4/18 4.0: Bottle in trade with Glouglouburp. Thanks! Pours a hazy amber color with a big white head and nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit hops. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Excellent citrus hop flavor with a nice malt balance and a nice bitter hop finish. Very similar to some west coast DIPAs I have had the pleasure to try. A very good beer. Updated rating: fresh can 10/11/2013

22oz bottle split with McBerko (thanks!). Pours a slightly hazy mahogany with receeding off white head. Uh-oh! Aroma seems slightly askew. Faded hops fight for air with some breaded malt notes, caramel and a slight off-putting funkiness...not enough to suggest the bottle is off, just not at its prime (?). Flavour has some hops but for my money the malt works to suppress them rather than counter balance them. The finish is just fairly ordinary though the alcohol is again quite well worked in. I would have suspected that this had been sitting around for too long had I not been told it was a very fresh bottle. Shame, I was led to expect bigger things.

HUGE thanks to Brian for sending this my way!
A-Body is a nearly transparent light amber hue. Bubbles can be seen all over the place. Pours with a perfect two finger or so foamy white head with perfect retention. Lacing left all the way down the glass.
S- Nose is awesome. Perfect. Citrus hops and white grapefruit everywhere. A faint sweet malt backbone can be detected as well. Very rich and citrusy.
T- Complex for an IPA and different hop impressions emerge with each sip. Citrus initially, then a touch of herbal and grassy, then a touch of pine and spicy at the end. The citrus is very bright initially then fades off the grassy and herbal remain contantly in the background. The pine is very mild and much more resiny than bright. A really big hop bitterness lingers on and on-citrus and pine resin with a big spicy hop overlay.
M-Medium to high carbonation and a slightly smooth and oily light to medium weight body.
D- Fantastic DIPA overall-complex and certainly in my top five-its a bit to bitter to take the #1 spot for me. Its certainly a hop bomb. Reminds me of my experience with PtY-although that was almsot 2 yrs ago. I hope the Alchemist keeps releasing this because it is a must try DIPA!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by my buddy Matt. Pours a hazy golden orange with a ton of hop sediment. Nose exploded with tons of citrus hops and tropical fruits, also a bit resiny. Nice and citrusy on the palate with out being overly bitter. A damn fine double IPA.

Mike Jones! Sorry fuckers, but I was worried about the freshness quotient of this here bad boy so I figured I’d have to take one for the team and drink it by myself. I might get another one some time, but I will make it up with my winnings from being awesome at fantasy football. Fuck those other fags I got my auction game on lock. Tim Tebow is my new favorite player, he’s a god damn winner. So the nose on this one is nice, its tropical and piney. Notes of peach, apricots, lots of pine and dank, and nice citrus notes too such as grapefruit and other various citruses. pours hazy orange amber not amazing looking by any means but it looks like an ipa. great lace fuck punctuation and capitals and shits. A great rap song is Fat Pat "Heart of a Hustla". White people listen to this. Tropical fruit hop flavor, hoes and sluts, dental dams, jet skis, cocaine, halucinogens. YES! This is a nice fruity hoppy beer! Not like a Mavericks or some other great beer using hops, but its nice, fresh fruity and danky. Heat of a hustler mind of a g, player hating ninjas cant fuck with me. Its nice. Danky resiny finish, nice flavor, great drinabiltity. Fcuking shit. I will get another to share. This shit was real good fuckers

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle. Short rating (’cuz I’m at work). Bottom of the bottle pour. Very murky with lots of suspended particulate. Dark, dark orange/copper with a lasting, frothy, thin white head. Fairly resinous aroma. Plenty of pine, biscuit and honey. A hint of ginger as well as some mint and cilantro. Flavor shows almost as much resin as the aroma, but somehow I was looking for just a bit more. Very dry on the tongue. Plenty hoppy, but not overly bitter. Cut green grass with some floral and perfume notes. Herbaceous with a hint of mint. Medium bodied. Firm on the tongue. Moderate to low carbonation. Fairly bitter and astringent on the finish, but ends rather abruptly. An immensely drinkable, East Coast IPA. Thanks for the treat Dany!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp, split with manuchampions, pours murky orangey brown with a small white head. Unusual aroma for an IPA of dark butterscotch, burnt caramel, with the hops a secondary feature - quite complex nose. The flavour doesn’t match up to the aroma’s complexity - earthy hops, muted malt backing, slight fruitiness, and a little caramel. Good, though I don’t see how this is worth the hype. 8 3 7 4 14 3.6 / 5
2nd try: This time, from a 500mL can courtesy of adamjackson (thanks a lot, Adam). Pours a vibrant golden orange with a big off-white head and ridiculous amounts of sediment floating about, that finally settles in the bottom. Awesome aromatics, full of resinous hops, tropical fruits and a big caramel malt backing - a bit of butterscotch as noticed in the first sampling but no where near as pronounced. Flavour brings out beautiful notes of resinous hops, a little butterscotch and a big juicy caramel malt backing. Very juicy and "big" feeling, without being a palate scorcher - though this is not shy of hops by any means. Excellent stuff.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2011 Bottle. Pours a light amber yellow color with a slight white head. Some sediment floating around. Danky type aroma of citrus and some pine type notes, some onion as well. Some lace. Medium mouthfeel. Slighlty sweet taste with a strong hop bitter flavor. Lingering bitterness. Does it live up to the hype? Sure, it’s pretty tasty!
Can: Pours a cloudy amber orange color with a lot of sediment in it. Light tan head. Again, same as the bottle, the can has a nice danky citrus type aroma that is pretty nice. Nice lacing as I drink this down. Nicely balanced between citrus sweet and tind bitterness. A tasty brew that I could drink all the time. ABV does not show.
