Hmmm. How do I explain another overly hopped, could use some more balance beer. The reason this beer is so coveted is because it is so hard to find. I think IPAs like Hopslam have more balance but given itís easier to get a hold of, it doesnít had the same aura.
Give it a shotÖdefinitely worth it if you canÖ.i just find itís undifferentiated from the plethora of IPAs on the market today.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
16 oz can courtesy bytemesis. This one pours a slightly hazy, glowing orange color that is topped by a small head of eggshell colored foam that quickly recedes and leaves streaks of lace behind. Just a couple of floaties in there too. The aroma is very tropical from the hops showing notes of grapefruit, mango, orange, and stone fruit atop a toasted bread malt base. The flavor follows suit with the tropical fruit, grapefruit, and orange up front followed by a touch of pine and a hint of honey sweetness to go with the toasted bread malt. The hops are the star here as they pack a flavorful punch of and bitterness. There is a nice balance though with all the flavors without getting overly bitter. Nearly full bodied and smooth with balanced carbonation that leads to a drying finish with some residual hop bitterness in there. This is certainly a really good double IPA and well deserving of the praise, but I donít know that itís the best double IPA out there.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pine and tin aroma with a stale background (probably my fault) golden hazy color(I know Iím suppose to drink it out of the can but itís already in a glass) Dry bitter off the bat with a slightly citrus funk after taste.

My first Heady. Thanks, Andy! No idea how fresh or not my can is, but it?s working just fine for me. Wonderful aroma, grapefruit and dank hops. Really amazing smell, actually. Taste almost as amazing. Really flavorful and hoppy, bright, but not overpowering. Just so tastefully crafted.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16oz. can! This one pours a cloudy darker golden color. There a few floaties in there. Small white head that doesnít linger long but does leave some lacing. Big nose of hops, hops and more hops! Grapefruit is the main contributor. Maybe some pineapple, peach and orange in there too. Nothing else making past the hops. The taste is good. Not nearly as bitter as you think it might be. Nice rounded flavor, fairly bitter, but there is a touch of sweetness hiding in there. Grapefruit and pine hops, with a strong malt body behind it. Iíd say it definitely lives up to the hype. Now to get some more...

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Can thanks to Matt, drank from the can so I canít comment on appearance. Aroma is super fresh and zingy, with buckets of citrus and pine. Taste is down a similar line, with enormous, incredibly fresh hop bitterness - again citrus is at the fore, with pine and some lighter tropical fruits present too. There is still a disguised but present malt backbone there. Finish is lively, crisp, dry and with a lovely lingering citrus aftertaste that lasts forever. Gorgeous beer, one of the best Iíve ever had!

Thanks Bursprak! Drank it from the can. Soft carbonation. Overwhelming aroma of fresh hops. Very fruity (citrus, tropical fruits). Light sweet with very bitter aftertaste. This is very good!

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
16 oz can in a trade. Thanks Moy! The pour is a little light for my liking in a solid double. The light gold had a beautiful head, and offered some lovely lacing. Don't worry, I didn't pour all of it out, just a little. The aroma is extraordinarily hoppy. There's a gorgeous citrus and pine note. It's simple, and yet amazing. The flavor is a strong hoppy bitterness followed by a nice piney dryness, and a wonderful grapefruit-esque finish to it. The mouth feel is incredible. Thin, but yet creamy and then really dry. The aftertaste is lingering, dry, bitter and hoppy. This is just a phenomenal double IPA.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy peach color with thin white head. Smells floral with citrus and pine. Tastes very citrusy and piney, but low on the sweet fruit flavor. Hops are present but subdued which was nice to see. Very balanced, and VERY drinkable for a DIPA. I can see where all the hype comes from. This beer feels like it is a finely tuned machine, or a work of art. It feels cohesive and intentional in a great way. However, personally speaking, while I appreciate the superior quality of this beer I have had IPAs that Iíve liked better for whatever reason, like Ruination. Thatís not to say I donít like this though. And for sure I will buy some more when I get the chance to get my hands on it again.
