Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Sep 5, 2006 On draught at Alchemist. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrus ad perfume. Taste is hoppy with more hops on the finish. An unexpected hop bomb. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA May 8, 2006 Draught pint @ Redbones 5/6/06. Pours a golden copper color with a white foamy head. Nose is floral and grapefruit hop notes with some light malt notes. Flavor is hoppy and simple. Lots of very nice hop notes but the malt side is lacking in complexity and strength. Finishes with a standard bitterness. Very crisp and refreshing. Paskal (146), La Prairie, Quebec, Canada Oct 25, 2005 En fût-Odeur de citron et de houblon, jaune troublé, salé vers l’arrière de la bouche.-Draft--Lemony and hoppy aromas, yellow cloudy, salty in the second half of the mouth. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 21, 2005 On cask at the pub.
Creamy, satiny smooth and lushious orange, with a burly head. It really was a heady topper! Hop damn! Resinous, gooey cascade, piney, patchouli, weed and citrus rounded off the aroma.
Wicked bitter, but feels almost milky in the gullet (thank you mister cask!). An all-out hop attack, the malt can’t do anything but surrender to this unstoppable force. The hops were so intense that I actually had my fill of it, and spent the rest of my weekend drinking lambics and other low-alpha acid brews. I loved it and will have it again, but not 2-3 pints in one session. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 20, 2005 Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Amazing aroma of resinous and citrusy hops. Amazing flavor of resinous and citrusy hops with a strong backbone of biscuity malt. Strong and very long lasting bitter finish. The body is medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. I love this beer. GonZoBeeR (2156), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Jul 17, 2005 Aroma:big big hopy nose.....
Appearance:Gold with a good white head...
Flavor:God grapefruit hops,light sugar malt...
Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Jul 15, 2005 Updated: Jul 19, 2005Had this on tap at the Alchemist pub in waterbury, VT. Great, thick creamy double IPA, wish I lived closer, so I could get this all the time. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Feb 6, 2005 Sampled at the 2005 EBF: Pours a clear bronze color with a lacy white head. Intense fresh bold green hoppy aroma. Body is mildly sweet and well hopped but thin. Has a good resiny hop profile and a crisp clean pine finish, but could use a little more malty sweetness to be true to style. Still a nice beer though.
