4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nov. 1, 2013; pint can @ Michael’s Rest., Sangerfield, NY. Half sampled from can (per brewer’s instructions); half placed in tumbler glass. Chewy, well-balanced DIPA. Lighter, unfiltered pour. Minimal lacing. Complex, earthy, bready aroma. High IBUs (more evident drinking from the can) are supported by a sturdy malt backbone. Finish is long & strong. Fabulous brew deserving of the hype. Many thanks to Michael Latreille for the opportunity to preview/sample this.

Alcohol is perfectly blended with the powerful aromas, the piny and grapefruit ascents this beer have. Fruity and perfect carbonation. Wish they could sell in Québec! Easy top 5 of all times for me.

FROM NOTES: July 3, ’12
Poured on tap at The Alchemist Brewery into an alchemist goblet. Did I mention it was for BREAKFAST (10:30 AM)! *DISCLAIMER: I am not a huge fan of the hop-bomb, so I did not go into this with big expectations. Most of the highly rated IPA/DIPAs I’ve had have not lived up to my expectations and left me slightly disappointed. This beer did NOT disappoint.
A: Hoppy, citrusy, maybe even skunky (in a good hop way). Very long lasting nose.
A: Poured a hazy, murky golden color with a ginormous white head. Excellent head retention and lacing.
T: It is one of the hoppiest beers I’ve ever had, but at the same time, it is not a hop bomb. Don’t know how they do it. Most beers this hoppy are a mess. This is perfect. citrusy. velvety.
P: Great body. Good carbonation. Oily.
O: While not a great breakfast dink (LOL), it is better than any other big IPA I’ve ever had. I picked up a 4 pack of cans while I was at The Alchemist and am scared to drink them because I know I’ll be sad when I’m gone. If you like big IPAs, you MUST try this one.

Golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, hops, grass, hay, passion fruit, apricot, lots of aroma hops. Bitter flavour, but not too bitter. Very fruity. Bitter fruity finish. Very drinkable, very hop forward, just brilliant!!
(From 50cL can, shared @ DDvdK with Ronald. Many thanks joes for giving me this fresh can, so I could try this long time want!)

Went to Vermont to try some regional only beers. This beer was exceptional. The aroma was hop filled but did not prepare me for the hop burst when i took my first drink. A++. This beer would fit nicely in the Three Floyds family with similar aroma and taste.

Drinking a beer by Alchemist in and of itself is hilarious because of a certain man who was convinced that he was going to take his hard earned deployment money and invest it into a machine that can turn anything into anything. He said he was going to be turning tires, fucking tires, into gold! He said it was an "alchemist machine." This same guy was put in charge of people’s lives. Anyway, this beer is off the chain good. Mind blowing, if you will. Thanks to TJ for sharing it with me.

Lives up to the hype. Incredibly hoppy and drinkable. Pours a very hazy gold with minimal head. Total hop assault on the senses. Makes me want move to Vermont.
