Can from Capones. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet. Pours a murky glowing golden orange with hop particles abound. Thick fluffy cream colored head and thick lacing. The hop particles might be off putting until you taste this thing. Aroma is fresh pineapples. If there is anything else in the nose it certainly doesn’t matter, that delicious pineapple aroma is over powering and amazing. Taste is pineapple - a little sweet upfront, not overly bitter. No doubt one of the finest IPAs out there.

Can. BIG thanks to Gabe at Grape & Gourmet for sharing! I can smell the American hops from a few feet away. Wow. I’m scared. Orange, amber. This is hop juice, all the way. Beautifully bounded citrus, grapefruit, flowers. Exceptionally wound into a well-assembled beer. Me want more. (#4855, 12/9/2012)

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2013 Drinking from the can as I am told. Aroma is a pleasant blend of hops - lots of citrus, peach and tropical fruit with pine resin backing it all up. No real malt aroma to speak of. Appearance is that of a silver can. Having had this from a glass I can say that it is a yellow gold with a nice white head. It is a very cloudy beer. Flavor is a touch sweet with light cracker and biscuit character. The light malt character is the perfect platform to showcase the hop flavors. Hop flavors are sweet orange and grapefruit, tropical fruit and peach. There is a light resin note in the finish. The bitterness is solid, but clean and not astringent at all. Does not strike me as being near 120 IBUs. The mouthfeel is smooth but crisp. The beer is fairly dry and not sticky sweet at all. Balanced but assertive bitterness. The alcohol is sufficiently hidden and the beer provides only a moderate warming character. Overall this is a very enjoyable DIPA; one of my all time favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hot damn. Beautiful nose, reminds message why I love beer. Tons of floaties so I understand why you should drink from the can. Not that bitter but full hop flavor. Excellent.

Incredibly aromatic hoppy smell along with a good amount of citrus notes Beautiful foggy gold color Tastes absolutely incredible with very strong hop notes and a little grapefruit, but not overly bitter Palate is perfect. Lasting flavors and thick Best Imperial IPA that I've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Serving: 16 oz. can. It pours a hazy amber color with a large, creamy off white head. The nose is full of pineapple, orange, and pine resin. The flavor is a full on hop assault. Bitter from start to finish with huge resinous pine flavor paired with light tropical hints a slight touch of yeast and malt sweetness. All those hops lead to a lasting bitter finish that dries out a bit thanks to the higher ABV. Medium bodied with lower carbonation. Pretty damn outstanding.

Can. Pour is unclear golden with lacing small and long-lasting white head. Aroma is massive hop-soup, pineapple, pine, grass sweet fruit, a lot of peach. Taste is bitter and heavy sweet but nicely balanced. not sure if it has a slight acidic tone or it´s a light hop-burn. Body is medium- full, texture is light syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish is long and delicately bitter. This hop-bomb blew me away!

Bought from a health food store in Burlington VT. Told it arrived that day so it musta been fresh. I like the pounder can format too! Pours a very pretty hazy orange. Fiery! Plenty of thick white sticky head and long lasting lacing. Crisp citrus aroma is an understatement. Mouthfeel is good and pretty light for an 8% ipa. Good bit of carbonation but not too much. Make it very drinkable. Flavor is straight up grapefruit rind. It's not too bitter though and the flavor really comes through. Overall a super flavorful IPA that could provide for an everyday beer. Very impressed. Really live up to the hype. I only wish I'd bought more before the sold out! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1 pint can courtesy of agl108. A hazy rust pour with tons of chunky floaties and a smallish beige head. A pungent nose of fresh pine trimmings, grapefruits, oranges, zesty citrus rinds, caramel, rye, and some doughy/biscuity qualities. Big-bodied. Creamy in some places and crisp in others. The taste starts with lots of caramel and some rye bread. A biscuity, spicy middle. Grapefruits, citrus rinds, and some light apricot flavors at the bitter end. A moderate amount of warming alcohol throughout. Enjoyable stuff.

16 ounce pint can thanks to youbrewidrink, appreciate it man! Pour is bright orange with a lot of haze, some floaties, and a lot of lacing. Smell is fruity hops, some pine, smells good. Flavor is bitter, tropical fruits, definitely a good DIPA. If I didn’t know better I’d guess this was a west coast IPA. I can see why this is so highly rated and I’d love to get a four pack but I know it isn’t easy. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 10-20-2012 03:38:47
