From the can. Intense tropical/dank aroma. Amazing hop flavor on the palate that is a wave of hop intensity. Tropical, grapefruit, a little piney, dank that lingers on your palate and leaves you wanting more. No sign of the 8% and no bitter at all compared to other DIPA. THE best DIPA I’ve ever had.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2013 Can. Believe the hype. The only reason this doesn’t score a perfect 5 is that it isn’t the prettiest beer to look at (which is probably why they want you to drink straight from the can). Had this side by side with Pliny the Younger, and although Pliny is great, this was the clear winner.

I can’t report much on appearance because I tried this as directed - from the can. Nose was citrus - grapefruit, mango and pineapple along with some pine, grassiness and floral elements. Taste followed with big citrus flavors, especially grapefruit and orange, but with a biscuity, caramel malt for balance. Bitterness was there but not overwhelming. It predominates in the aftertaste as well, along with pine oil and honey. Mouthfeel was medium and mildly carbonated. There is little to no alcohol burn. I can understand why so many people love this beer…it was great…just not my all-time favorite as it is for so many.

Wow the nose is a hop buffet, I barely had the can open and the aroma was invading the air. It’s extremely hop forward, the most prevalent flavors I get are grapefruit, citrus, and a strong floral taste. Probably the best double I’ve ever had!!!

Pours a hazy gold colour with a white head that dissipates quickly, some white lacing. Aroma of fresh roses and citrus hops, probably one of the best aromas ever. Tastes of roses followed by citrus hop, it's a great beer missing a little on the back end. This is honestly one of my top 5 beers ever if not #1. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2013 Wow! Definitely lives up to the hype for me! Beautiful unfiltered golden color. Aroma is citrus, pine, mango, pineapple, pineapple, and more pineapple!! Love the bits of hop sediment floating around the glass. Taste is sweet, citrusy, and again PINEAPPLE! Excellently balanced! Yum!!

From a taster snifter at the brewery: Light, sudsy head with a little staying power. amber color. Big bready aroma with piney hop overdrive. Huge taste with a soft but pronounced bitterness. Stays on the palate like a slice of bread, initial bitterness softens quickly. This is a great complex DIPA that is unusually easy to drink.

From the 16oz can at Hunahpu’s Day 2013. Pours with a gigantic and rich head. Citrus and grapefruit. Big on bitter and floral and finishes extremely balanced. Great DIPA.
