Pours hazy gold with a creamy white head that leaves lots of lacing. Sorry, can. Aroma of extremely pungent citrus fruit - tangerine and orange being dominant. There are further underlying dank, peach and fruity yeast notes. Superb and totally unique. Taste is medium-sweet malt up front, very quickly leading into massive hop flavour. There is lots of bitterness no doubt, but the citrus and peach flavour balances nicely. Clean and bitter, long finish with a slight spiciness. Hype justified.

Sample at First Sunday. Pours a hazy yellow, with a medium, off-white head. The aroma is intense pine and resin, with some chalk and sawdust. Very bitter flavor, with just a little sweetness. Long, bitter, yet fairly pleasant aftertaste. Medium body, with a sticky, astringent mouthfeel. Maybe this is blasphemy, but I was underwhelmed by this. It is likely that, with more than a couple of ounces, it mightíve grown on me, but from what I had, Iím not impressed.

Kinda lucked into trying this one. Some dude who looked like a vagrant came into the Panama City Beach Qwikr Likr yesterday and handed a can of this to the manager. Apparently heíd promised him one some time before. Got a chance to sample some, and Iím extremely glad for his generosity. Iím a big DIPA fan, but hadnít had a superb example in quite some time. This is one awesome beer.....great hop aroma and flavor...gritty/dirty in a good way...reminded me of some of the great SoCal DIPAs of my past (Hop Suey comes to mind!). Not sure if I can but Iíll look to pick up some of this stuff!

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 From the can. Aroma of fresh pine. Heady totally lives up to the hype! Incredible double ipa. Very dank resiny hops. Perfectly described on the can "wave after wave of hoppy goodness." I was lucky enough to get a case from my buddy in VT about a month ago. This can isnít quite as fresh as the first one I had but itís still excellent! Very drinkable and smooth for a double ipa. I canít wait to get more!!

Dark gold. Rich citrus aroma. Orange flavour, an extra piney twist in the tail. Very refreshing, very drinkable. Iíd love this as a regular in my fridge!
