UPDATED: MAR 13, 2013 Nice rich golden-amber color with decent layer of sudsy off-white head. A floral, citrus-spiked sweet hop aroma and light maltiness which carries through in taste. " Waves" of hop flavors; floral then a bit earthy in the finish with some bite in the cheeks (so to speak). Really a great beer. Notes: I was fortunate to try it from the can and on tap at the pub back before the flood with some excellent food.

From can. Nice fruity fresh hop aroma. Apricot, pear, pine. Sweetness abounds with alcohol vapor and funky resin. Amber clear with light haze and thin white head. Medium body with high carbonation. Starts sweet with lots of juicy hops, fruity and bitter. Light caramel. Bit bitter finish and after.

Wow wow wow my 100th rate and what a beer to do it with :) can acquired via a trade from kingcecil. Pour hazy golden with a white one finger head. Aroma is citrus and piney, smooth on the palette growing bitterness on the aftertaste which is great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one is so much fun to try and get hold of - I guess it’s hard not to let the romanticism enter into the review. But having had it both in and out of can, and having tried many of the other top rated double IPA’s, I still have to say this one is on my top three. Something about the aroma / palate / flavor profile makes it incredibly drinkable and all around outstanding.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2013 Can from RB trade; hazy amber off white head, Simcoe hop bitter tropical hop resinous mouthfeel. Had a fresher can probably only a couple of weeks old and my god this is so drinkable, tropical hop freshness hitting my tastes buds big time.

Amazing floral hop with some definite alcohol in there. Real deep breath reveals some cat friendliness. Great full sweet bitterness. A little muddled. Full body great bitter finish.

I waited a long time for this and am satisfied. Beer bucket list checked off. I will be seeking out more. I traded a DFH Old School barley wine for this and it was a great trade! There are bits of hops afloat in this IPA pool. Passion fruit forward, this is an excellent DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
