UPDATED: MAR 18, 2014 Can: Thanks to the many Heady hook ups Iíve had over the years, Nick being the first. Of all the Heady Iíve had, my cans have never had sediment. Completely opaque, yeast hazed sunburst orange with a creamy, eggshell foam that leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is gushing with wet, citric & tropical hops. Pineapple, passion fruit, mango, tangerine, mildly dank hop oils, a touch of green onion, some sweet bread, a hint of honey, & a kiss of malt sugars. Taste is so smooth for 8% ABV. Leafy, oily, lightly herbal hops with notes of grapefruit peel, sweet orange rind, mango, light passion fruit, & some finishing pineapple. Touch of white pepper, grass, & hemp oil. Wet & dripping with hop. Finish of tropical hops, light honey biscuit sweetness, & faint herbal notes. Simply great DIPA, the hype on Heady Topper is legit, & it never disappoints!

Many thanks Northropfrye. Pours a hazy light orange. Beautiful aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, and resin. Flavors are grapefruit, sweet tropical fruit, resiny hop bitterness. Incredibly smooth. A truly delicious beer.

Cloudy, pale yellow, small white head. Melons, floral. Some hay. Very bitter, but balanced against quite a lot of sweetness. Lighter bodied, fairly carbonated. Effervescent. Excellent, tremendously well balanced.

Appearance: Hazy deep golden color with a frothy white head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Rich balanced grapefruit hoppy and mild tropical fruity.
Palate: Full body. Slightly sweet, and a rich balanced bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Rich grapefruit hoppy, rich fruity and a deep malty back.
Overall impression: Well what is there to say about this one that is not already spoken? There is a natural reason why we want this one. Pure pleasure!
Personal stats: Can from a trade with Perrin515

Poured from a one-day old pint can: Pours a hazy golden with a one finger white head and a few yeasty chunks on the bottom. Aroma is unlike anything else Iíve ever had. Floral, grapefruit, lemon rind, little grassy, pine, just wonderfully fresh smelling. Taste is incredible, so much grapefruit, hoppy, resiney goodness. Finish is clean with a little bitter kick at the end. The bitterness increases as the cans age, and the beer gets a bit boozy. Donít sit on these, they only get worse. On tap at the source this might the best IPA in the world. The only knocks I have on it are the slight bitterness at the end of the sip (really knitpicking here), and the rather chunky appearance as itís unfiltered and unpasteurized. Chunky is not appealing. Other than that, itís perfection.

Can, poured into a snifter. Pours a very cloudy straw yellow with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of grapefruit and pine. The flavor begins with mild malt but is quickly overrun by grapefruit and pine hops bitterness. A bit less resinous than I would have liked and more dominated by the grapefruit than the pine. This beer actually gave me heartburn and required 3 Tums after consumption. A fun beer to try but falls a little below the hype for me.

Poured from the can - after a few sips as guided. Great, fresh hop aroma. Fantastic palate and surprisingly smooth for a DIPA. Taste is where it sings. A bit of pine but such a smooth drinking IPA you are necessarily disarmed. It's easy to see how HT has become such a favorite.

16oz can. Pours a hazy golden color with small white head. Intense hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and pine. This is a hop loverís dream, pure bitter hoppy flavor. Full bitter finish. Outstanding.

Not an ipa fan so this is a huge rating. If all ipaís tasted like this is like ipas! The bitterness is really understated. Smooth going down the hatch.

Heady hop aroma with a slightly cloudy appearance. Hoppy throughout with a clean aftertaste.
