I’m ready for a Heady! Fresh can. In the can, smell is big pine. Poured into a small taster also getting some fruity smell. Pours murky light tangerine with no head or lacing. Aromas are pine, some light peach or apricot, maybe some biscuit. Tastes are light sweet and heavy bitter. Body is medium, bitterness almost makes it feel sticky. Bitterness and flavours last a long time. This is crazy drinkable.

Fresh can. Hazy orange, white head. Nose is citrus fruits, pine, grapefruit. Taste is citrus fruits, earth, grapefruit, pine. Really smooth mouthfeel, dangerously drinkable.

Chilled 16 oz. can, big thanks for Josh. Rating was blind against two other IPAs. Pours deep golden/light amber with small white head. Medium body, low carbonation, and nice hop aroma. Taste is heavy grapefruit, pine, spicy hops, and bitter finish. Lots of flavor, but the grapefruit was too heavy and not the lighter fruitier I prefer and I am not a fan of the pine. I expected more from the highly rated Heady-Topper.

Pours a murky, pale, wheat golden color with a cottony, stubborn white head. Flecks of barley and vegetable matter float all around the beer. Juicy grapefruit with some pine on the nose. Once the beer settles, sweeter fruit breaks through. Grapefruit up front then grass and pine emerge. But, the flavor suddenly falls of a cliff for an abrupt finish. Alcohol and unami get picked up right away and pervade throughout. The mouthfeel is a little thin for the style. It dries a little toward the finish. Pretty big disappointment. Pliny, Abrasive, Sucks, all way superior in my opinion.

16oz. can. Nice hop on the nose, hop punch on the tongue. Citrus. Bit thin on the tongue for a double IPA, but overall delightful.

Very hoppy with citrus flavors. Very drinkable, but drink it from the can.

Pint can from Grand Cru Rhinebeck, NY. Amazing beer that lives up to the hype. I will make a trip to VT to get more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fresh can from Phatdog1. Been looking forward to sampling this one. Golden pour, big thick, lacey white head that doesn’t go away fast. The aroma on this is amazing. Smells like a bag of hops when I homebrew. Super fresh. Taste is big hop forward without being massively aggressive on the palate. Mostly pine notes. Very resiny, but again, not overdone. Balanced but still interesting, which I think is often a challenge, but the brewer got it right. Finishes with a lingering bitterness, but at the right level. I think what sets this apart is how well it pushes the envelope with the use of hops without going too far, and just the incredibly fresh nature of it. Appropriately rated high. Thank you, Craig!

It’s a really good beer. I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but drinking this beer is like breaking the seal on a fresh bag of hops...game, set, match.
