4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 My new favorite IIPA. This stuff is truly awe-inspiring and rockets to the top of the charts. I have had the opportunity to try it several times now, but I have had to go to Vermont to get it, but having an excuse to visit Vermont is a good thing. Fresh piney aroma, with the just the right touch of yeast and graham cracker. Rocky head on a butterscotch pour. The brewer recommends sipping from the can, but this man is a maniac who wants to crawl into the can and become one with the hops - maybe not such a bad idea, actually. For some reason this stuff does seem to be at its best direct from the can. HT is packed with rich, grassy, fruity, piney hops - with a nuanced, layered aroma and flavor. At its freshest, which is the best way to enjoy it, you taste cranberry, orange, and strawberry. There is a nice amount of sweet honey flavor too. This is about as good as an IIPA can get at this point in our development, or so it seems to me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can, thanks skyview. Pours a darker honey golden with plenty of hop bits in suspension an a tight sticky slightly off white head. Probably should had drank this can a bit sooner, but still a nice balanced hop aroma on the nose. Dances between sweet peach and tropical fruit, sticky pine sap, with a bit of orange marmalade toast. Pretty full mouth feel, but not in a bad way, tight prickly carb that works well to bring out the present, but not of the top bittering in the finish. Great balanced hop flavors throughout, that Iím sure are only that much more bright and dominate of the malt bill when this is fresh. Enjoyed this and hope to get another can or 2 in the future and drink them fresh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Pours clear orange amber, topped with a medium sized off white head that fades fairly quickly. Plenty of grapefruit in the aroma, with some lemon and pine. Flavor is more intense than the aroma, with tons of grapefruit up front, and pine needles building towards the finish. Hop resin clings to the palate. Really solid, a great DIPA.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: Pours a dark orange-gold color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, herbal hops and malt. Medium body with a citrusy hops character and notes of pine and malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Well-executed and tasty IIPA all around.
