1pt Can. A drop into ½ glass –just for appearance & smelling- the rest direct from the can following brewer´s suggestion. Enjoyed on jun´12. Pale straw color, hazy. Off-white, small bubbled, froth. Slowly dissipated crown leaves a thin foam layer on top. Intense ripe tropical fruit, resin & sweet malt aromas. Pleasant sweet, creamy, maltiness at fist sip mixed with tropical fruits & increasing bitterness. Medium to full body, oily texture. Low carbonation. Ripe fruit in the middle cut by resiny touch lingers into the short, dry finish. Delightful. Probably one of the best AIPA I´ve ever had.

"Drink from the can!" The Alchemist Heady Topper is amazing. I did just as it said on the can and drank it direct. With that said... I didn't see the pour. It doesn't matter. This beer is amazing. Smells citrusy and piney. Flavor is bold. Hops, pine, lots of citrus. Simply amazing and definitely worth the hype. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can, fresh. The pour is a light hazy yellow. The aroma is big time hops, pine. The taste is bitter big upfront and continues. Seems like a hop heads dream come true.

50cl can, American brew, thx alot to Secret Santa!, very complex bitter brew, fruity/bitter and slightly floral/woody, very balanced, cloudy, good head, very good brew!, "As I got this as a gift, I couldn’t resist rating this (I normally never rate cans); this is indeed an awesome IPA!"

Great, multi-dimensional fresh hop nose that unfortunately doesn’t carry over into the flavor. The floaties are also extremely offputting, and simply suggesting that the beer be drunk out of the can doesn’t get Alchemist off the hook for such a shoddy presentation.

Floral nose. Great head and color. Fruitier and cloudier than I expected. Very good, but not great.

Friend shared pint can, poured to stemware with a yeasty cloudiness and orangy hue, a decent layer of cream colored head foam, and wavy lacing. The nose was intensely resiny & grapefruity, with some pleasant, backup tropical notes. Very malty, with a nice creaminess to the mouthfeel. Medium+ bodied, hop bitterness was strong, very lingering, but drinkably under control, with the flavor also presenting some dusty earthiness, a touch of soapiness, and obvious but subdued alcohol. Impressive DIPA!

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2013 Can in trade with phatdog1! Pours a hazy golden orange with dissipating creamy off-white head that webs nicely. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is a slightly bitter menagerie of tropical fruits and citrus with a nice caramel malt back end. Nothing over the top, a nice balance. Great IPA.

Can in Massachusetts, thanks so much to my cousin Lauren who saved a couple for me! (and to know that she loves this as much as all of us, is just great). Fantastic aroma, dank, tart hops with vinegar. Body is huge resiny hops. Full, heavy mouthfeel, and heavy acid hop finish. Rich and smooth. This is crazy huge and thick but oddly restrained and balanced in that context of huge dipa. Funky citrus, citrus rind. Sticky sweetness. Crazy good. Rich and tasty. East coast’s intense dipa king.. east coast Pliny. Both beers I simply wish I could have more often.
