can aquired from trade with shcufj (BA). no freshness info. pours a golden amber into my snifter capped by small head with good retention. Head reduces to a lacing cap. Aroma is of tropical fruit and light caramel. Pineapple upfront on the palate with tangerine, and canned peaches. Caramel provides the backbone. Mouth is light bodied. excellent.

Thanks to suttree for sharing a big can of this one. Dirty orange and hazy with a lasting film of cream. Big nose of resin and grapefruit with some caramel holding it up. Taste is the same rich goodness. Light-medium body has medium carbonation and a good balance.

On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT. Pours a somewhat peachy brown, quite hazy, with a billowy, white head that dissipates to thin film within a minute or two. Sticky, clumpy lacing. Nose is a bouquet of fruit and citrus notes nearly masking the malts. Grapefruit and orange zest come through strong with peach and apricot hints. Taste is bitter, but a surprisingly mild bitterness. Especially for a Double IPA, I expected it to be more harsh, but this is quite delicately balanced. Medium to full bodied; carbonation is quite lively. Excellent brew!

Incredible grapefruit flavor without being overpowering. Was much more drinkable than I expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Looks like orange juice with white head and lace. Floral and orange hoppy aroma with hints of spicy grass. Fruity bready orange sweetness. Surprisingly mild medium bitterness. Nicely attenuated medium light body with great super fine carbo. Excellent. Best beer in the world? Not so sure.

Great, massive DIPA. Pineapple scented, cloudy, hugely drinkable (for an 8% beer). From can & poured into glass. 5 days after distributor dropped off. #fresh ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy orange with a complex hop aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine, and tangerine. The flavor is stellar with an amazing blend of sweet fruit and medium bitterness throughout. Amazing beer

Thank you, thank you, thank you to WillemsUrenkel for that can! Looks really good. Beer in the glass very zippy, nice head. Starts intense hoppy, bitter with fruity notes of grapefruit, lemon. Quite dry, but not too much. Also some grasy hints. Well balanced bitter-hoppy finish. A great beer!

Pours hazy light golden, lots of bubbles, finger creamy white head, lots of thick lacing. Aroma big fresh grapefruit, bready malt, pine, and floral hops, slight grape peel and alcohol. Taste bitter grapefruit, floral, slight pine up front, fresh bread sweet malt to provide some balance mid mouth, grassy, grapefruit rind, floral hops and un-ripe grape peel linger. Mouthfeel fuller side of medium body, medium-high carbonation, creamy, slight alcohol warming, nice peppery hop sensation, balanced finish leans more on the dry side. Overall wow, this is what a double ipa should be, right up there with Pliney and Double Jack for me, probably the best, I would wait in long lines for this!

Followed the instructions and drank it from the can. Aroma from the can is amazing, simply amazing. Taste - very nice. Hits you in the front and then a huge blast in the back of the mouth. Wow. Palate - Very fizzy carbination. Perfect mouth feel. Overall - Excellent beer. Worth the wait. I wish there was a canned date on the bottom, but I am pretty sure the can is fairly fresh because I don’t think any of these sit beers sit on the shelf very long.
