4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Thanks to adamjackson for this awesome brew via trade. It doesn’t look the part, but it definitely acts the part in every other category. First can poured into two pint glasses, one for me and one for my wife (hell of a post-baby beer!). Off yellow hazy pour with white head. Second one consumed from the can as advised by...the can. Smells like a dream orchard filled with ripe fruits: orange, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, hint of evergreen. Tastes more ripe than it smells. Perfect resinous hops intermingle with ripe citrus. Bitterness is very low and alcohol is remarkably unnoticeable 8%. One of the three best IPAs I have ever enjoyed.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can shared. Pours yellow and clear. Massive hop smell. Taste of big hops...very bitter and dry. Good IPA but in my opinion not as good as Hopslam.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2014 Blind tasting, of Double IPAs & Single IPAs.
List of Double IPAs, in prefered order: The Crusher, Heady Topper, Pliny The Elder, Deviant Dale’s
List of Single IPAs, in prefered order: Focal Banger, Grapefruit Sculpin, Moralité/Blind Pig
A – Glowing hazy yellow with a thick head.
S – Very pungent piney, citrusy aroma. Pineapple, over ripe fruit, hop forward.
T – Taste does not disappoint, again straight forward hops, no crystal malt, very dry. The amount of hop taste The Alchemist actually gets is very impressive.
M – Mouthfeel fills your mouth, lively carbonation with an abrupt bitterness finish, quite oily
O – The amount of hop taste The Alchemist actually gets is very impressive, the aroma, especially if you smell out of the can is very very intense, but the taste completely mimics it.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The definition of IPA. BITTER, citrus, floral, hoppy deliciousness.
This is the only IPA I've had to date that beats my home brew. Wow. What an experience.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very nice, dank and piney aroma and taste. Very balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Only downside for me is the lack of some tropical fruit and the alcohol being just a bit too present.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thanks to Steve for this thoughtful gift. Pours a bright, hazy golden in color with a medium, slowly settling, white head. The aroma is heavy, with plenty of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, peach, and floral hops. The taste is extremely bitter and hoppy, with a very dry finish. Pine and grapefruit are most prevalent here. Peach, pineapple, tangerine, and orange are found as well. There are touches of sweetness that compliment the beer instead of overpowering it. The aftertaste is a long lasting grapefruit flavor. Medium in body, a slick, slightly sticky texture, and lots of lively carbonation. Despite everything this is offering, I find this very easy to drink. Its delicious, refreshing, yet still packs a punch. This is one outstanding beer. It is among the best of this style that I’ve ever had. It might be the best. I won’t be forgetting this one anytime soon.

From notes, 16 ounce can consumed on 5/18/2013 at ChurchKey. Hazy honey orange with two fingers of off-white head. Nice head retention and lacing. Aromas of grapefruit and other citrus fruit, tropical fruit, caramel, floral notes. Tastes of big grapefruit citrus, caramel, pine, resin. Medium body with a semi-dry and bitter finish. Medium carbonation. Great stuff.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Huge hoppy citrus arome from this clear orange highly carbonated brew. Taste of grass brapefruit and malt back bone. Dominated by fresh hop character. Great brew

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Can - 473ml. Pours a hazy, light amber body with an average, lasting, white foamy head. Fresh, complex aroma for such a hoppy beer. It is obvouisly dominated by hops but malty, citrusy, and some subtle vanilla hints are noticeable. Its sharp hoppy taste carries citrusy, coriander, and piney notes. Ends with a long, strong bitter finish. Awesome DIPA and a perfect pick for my 3000th rating!
