5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Have had from can, and on tap at Alchemist before it was destroyed by Irene. Aroma- Intense piney, floral the instant you open the can, and it continues throughout the drinking. Appearance- typically drink from a can, but when poured, it is a rich, hazy gold. Taste- A full bodied hoppy bitterness tempered by slight citrusy sweetness which allows the beer to have a smoothness one would think impossible from such a high IBU brew. Palate- a medium bodied brew with lively carbonation. As said, is quite smooth, but finishes bitter, with the hops back to the forefront. Overall- A fantastic Double IPA that is surprisingly easy to drink, but does not sacrifice an ounce of flavor for that.

Can @ ZEBF 2015. There it is, the legendary Heady Topper. Got a fresh one, three days old it seemed. It’s a nicely hopped double IPA, with a bitter taste of pine, citrus and bitter peach. Caramelly malt body. Nice.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
16 ounce can. Pours a cloudy yellow gold color with a moderate creamy beige head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Flavor is bittersweet malt and lots of juicy tropical fruit. Notes of pineapple, grapefruit and mango. There is an underlying sweet caramel maltiness. Every sip brings complex hops and tropical fruit. Amazingly drinkable for such a highly hopped IIPA.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Extremely super heavy hop taste and aroma. These beers that are just a dumptruck full of hops don’t impress me at all.

Chased it down while in Vermont for bachelor party. Even though I’m not a real fan of ipas, I was glad to get my hands on a pairof 4pks to bring home. Excellent balance made this not overly bitter and extremely drinkable.

Drank at ZeeBra 2015 (20-6-2015). One of the best IPAs out there. Rich, compelling, fresh, hoppy taste. Not too plain or too soft. Sharp and compelling. Like it.

An IPA as it should be. Tropical fruits, grapefruit, pineapple and with a good bitter finish. Love this one.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Orange color, hazy beer, 2 fingers white head, little and medium bubbles, lasing. Aroma: piny resin, lemon, gapefruit, sweet orange, mango. Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness. More sweet flavours like mango, sweet orange, mandarine than in aroma. A little bit lingering resin-grass bitterness, which is building up and increasing in beer as it warms up. Palate: low carbonation, medium body, smooth. Well hidden alcohol, beside minimal warming in stomach you cant say its high abv. Overall: really good IPA, but not as good as it’s hyped. Definitly have no start to rochefort 10 or other excellent beers, even in IIPA category I wont say its the best.
If you drink for the can (as alchemist suggest), you get less of aroma, and more of pure taste, slightly different experience, but I prefer way it taste from glass.

W tym piwie wszystko cieszy. Począwszy od pięknej puszki, poprzez aromat (genialny! ileż owoców, mango, marakuja, cytrusy) a kończąc na smaku. No właśnie - smaku. To piwo to symfonia amerykańskiego chmielu !
