Thanks to time4lunch for the trade. Pours hazy orange with a big head with flecks of what must be hop resins or yeast? The past few times I’ve had it I just drink it from the can, but I poured it for the review. Big citrus aroma with some pine and grassiness. Taste is well balanced for a DIPA, solid malt backbone for the bitterness. Lots more of the citrus, pine, and a bit of grassiness in the taste, surprising amount of flavor for a DIPA that doesn’t make you pucker you face (probably tons of late hop additions). The carbonation is average with a light to medium mouthfeel. The finish just hangs around for a while, bitterness and citrus rule my mouth. The best hoppy beer I’ve had, one of the best of any beers I’ve tried and I still have one more left!

Great, multi-dimensional fresh hop nose that unfortunately doesn’t carry over into the flavor. The floaties are also extremely offputting, and simply suggesting that the beer be drunk out of the can doesn’t get Alchemist off the hook for such a shoddy presentation.

Floral nose. Great head and color. Fruitier and cloudier than I expected. Very good, but not great.

Friend shared pint can, poured to stemware with a yeasty cloudiness and orangy hue, a decent layer of cream colored head foam, and wavy lacing. The nose was intensely resiny & grapefruity, with some pleasant, backup tropical notes. Very malty, with a nice creaminess to the mouthfeel. Medium+ bodied, hop bitterness was strong, very lingering, but drinkably under control, with the flavor also presenting some dusty earthiness, a touch of soapiness, and obvious but subdued alcohol. Impressive DIPA!

Can in trade with phatdog1! Pours a hazy golden orange with dissipating creamy off-white head that webs nicely. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is a slightly bitter menagerie of tropical fruits and citrus with a nice caramel malt back end. Nothing over the top, a nice balance. Great IPA.

Can in Massachusetts, thanks so much to my cousin Lauren who saved a couple for me! (and to know that she loves this as much as all of us, is just great). Fantastic aroma, dank, tart hops with vinegar. Body is huge resiny hops. Full, heavy mouthfeel, and heavy acid hop finish. Rich and smooth. This is crazy huge and thick but oddly restrained and balanced in that context of huge dipa. Funky citrus, citrus rind. Sticky sweetness. Crazy good. Rich and tasty. East coast’s intense dipa king.. east coast Pliny. Both beers I simply wish I could have more often.

Amazing aroma of pineapple, peaches, and tropical fruits. Taste is fruity with a really well balances bitterness that is quite small for being an Dbl IPA.

A great DIPA one of the best out there. The only thing I don’t like about this beer is the chunks of fish food flakes floating around in it. Other than that everything about this beer is great.

From the can, obviously but poured into a tulip. Huge, overwhelming aromas of fresh pine, peaches, citrus pith & spicy hops; you could seriously sniff this all day long and not get bored. Poured a cloudy amber orange with a thin head, that dies to a fine lace. Well, I wasn’t expecting this......the taste is just so one dimensional with fresh pine, spicy bitter hops...........and then nothing. No linger, no malt to back it up, no hint of sweetness, nothing, nada, zilch. There is just no finish!! It’s like drinking a stripped wine. I just don’t know what all the hype is about.....oh wait, I do......it’s just hype and everyone is on this train.
