120 IBU bomb and it's canned. Can't really see the appearance since I'm told to drink from the can but I bet it's beautiful. So smooth upfront with huge bitter notes in the back. Would love to see this in Ohio someday. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

appearance: cloudy yellow gold, with a finger of thick, creamy white head that persisted and shrunk only slightly; good lace rings around the glass. aroma: up front itís citrus first (lemon, grapefruit, some blood orange), then floral, then tropical (pineapple, mango), and then resinous pine, over a hint of pie crust and pepper. taste: the hops meld almost completely into a distinct whole, with elements of pine, grass, herbal, tropical, floral, and citrus hops all coming together into an earthy, funky, fresh, bright mix; thereís some malty sweetness and notes of lemon curd underneath to provide some heft. finish: dry, slightly chewy, with the hops and sweetness and a hint of alcohol all coming together with enough carbonation to keep the thing from crushing you. notes: Itís surprisingly drinkable and balanced, and the alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel felt almost grainy, but in a good way. Did not expect this to live up to the hype, but no kidding it actually did. Can from Paul at work, who is my new best friend.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2016 Can in Burlington poured into pint glass with commonmac and rosskyle and samadouche. Hazy orange with white head and excellent lacing . Clean funky citrus nose. Amazing taste from the start. Incredibly smooth, then citrus, clean subtle spice. Citrus funk, then well masked alcohol and hop. Sweet more than bitter. Alcohol comes out as it warms. Exactly what a dipa should be. This actually lives up to the hype.

This is strange to type but Iíve finally been able to consume one of these and it comes at Ri Ra in Burlington. Sadly, yes itís out of a can at an Irish bar but letís be honest does it matter where you imbibe on this legendary beer? Commonshawn, rosskyle, and samadouche are also enjoying this one. Beautiful orange and golden in color with healthy half finger white head. Tropical fruit and subtle pine on the nose. Taste is a perfect balance of sweetness and hoppy notes. Tropical fruit and sugars play a great role. Softer mouthfeel than anticipated and it makes it even better. Unbelievably smooth. Iíve fallen in love with this beer. I will consume again. This I promise you.

Itís deffently one of the best beers I had, worth all the hype ppl say. Itís amazing that it is a double and bittered almost like a pale and the resin flavor come out on every sip.

Pine aroma filled the room as soon as I opened the can. Hazy. Ive been over IPAs for awhile, but this could bring me back in. Very drinkable. Really accents the pine, tropical fruit rinds, and citrus. Cracker dry. Really evolves on the palate, starts off pine and rounds out bitter. Good bitter though. Thanks ThePatrickman for helping me score this want.....week old none the less!

58 year old physician with all kinds of discretionary income found myself standing in line, in the rain, in 35 degree weather, waiting for a Heady delivery in Barre, Vt. Asking myself: "My God, has my life really come to this?" Scored a case, not embarrassed by my actions. The aroma blew me away. Flowers and lemons. Does not drink like 8%, which is dangerous. Got down to one of my last cans and committed heresy by pouring it into a snifter. What a beautiful yellow almost fluorescent color! Beyoncť in a can.

Rated from a 4 pack that my co-worker brought back from Vermont. Tried in both the can as suggested and poured into a glass. Not much of a difference in flavor/aroma but the carbonation was obviously a bit higher in the can. I must say I enjoyed this beer out of the glass a bit more. Pours a hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is of medium strength in the hop vibrancy department, citrusy/grapefruity. Flavor has strong grapefruit /citrus up front then a twinge of orange. Simple pale malt bill to let the hop character to shine. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Drinks VERY easily for an 8% abv beer. The bitterness level, while totally appropriate for an IPA, is VERY smooth. While it doesnít taste like Bells Two Hearted, it has a similar drinking experience for me. Overall, didnít quite knock my socks off but a really good beer that I would like to have again.

A week old can, pours hazy light gold, creamy white head doesnít stick around. Aroma of grapefruit juice almost grapefruit pith, some tangerine and light honey like malt. Flavor lots more grapefruit, smooth honey like malt flavor, firm bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel almost slick, bitterness doesnít linger. Super smooth no alcohol warming, sneaky 8.0%
