VTHopHead (633), Barre, Vermont, USA Jul 24, 2005 Sample at VTBrewfest - Poured a very hazy yellow with a bright white head and good lacing. Aroma is the classic clove/banana, but heavy on the "banana" side. Flavor is yeasty with the expected clove/banana, but with a distintive citrus afternote. Finish is uncharacteristically spicy. A good effort. muzzlehatch (4422), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 7, 2005 12 oz draught at the brewpub. Light banana-cream pie filling appearance, near-opaque, smallish head with good lacing...nose heavy on fruit and vanilla, light on spicing, very little clove...body quite sweet, creamy with some nice late sourness, vanilla and orange adding to the banana...seems a mite astringent and bitter/peppery to finish...not bad, but a disappointment from this brewer I think. chronictonic (331), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA May 31, 2005 This is a great hefeweizen. Pale straw yellow in color with a slight wispy head. No lemon served with it (yeah!). Flavor was immensely crisp and refreshing. Slight cloviness and bannana flavors - but only mild compared to some. Very soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Probably the best beer we tried on our recent Vermont trip.
