Bottle shared by BenC...thanks Ben! - Pours lightly hazy chestnut brown with a thin bubbly light tan head. Beautiful juicy grapefruit hops on the nose. Not much else other than a sweet bready malt base, a bit of dark chocolate and lots of grassy hops. Really grassy/piney hops on the finish that are a bit bitter for my taste. Really sharp alcohol/hops/wood on the finish. Smooth and well-carbonated--really fluffy and full-bodied without being heavy. Ends up being too sharp for my tastes, but the good qualities make this an interesting drink.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 blomster (119) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle. Murky, dark amber, off-white head. Malty, citrusy, boozy aroma. Nice hoppy taste with citrus and resin dominant. Solid sweetish malt backs up the hops. Smooth bitterness, long finish. More a hoppy barleywine than IIPA to me. A good solid beer, not quite up to the same standard as the two other Alchemist beers I’ve had.

Much thanks to Eric for sending me this bottle via trade. Pours out a muddy amber color with a small off white head. Aroma is heady citrus hops, sweet light fruits, some light malt and grapefruits. Taste is a nice hop punch, some citrus, grapefruit, light fruity notes, some light sweetness in there. Alcohol is very well hidden. Tasty beer.

Sampled bottle. Poured a light clear caramel color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma had a touch of alcohol, was very malt-forward. Flavor was tasty, malt notes, grapes? Yeah, that’s it...

Thanks to GatorGuy92 for sharing this one. Cheers, Matt! Pours a caramel brown with a white head. Nose is malt, pine, grapefruit, hint of biscuit, orange, and sweet malt. Flavor is similar with all manner of hops throughout. Medium in body with lingering piney hops. Interesting.

Hell & High Water Bomber thanks to Ruth.
Appearance : Clear amber with a small head. Nice lacing.
Aroma : Really nice cereals with great herbal and floral hops.
Taste : Great citrusy and resinous hops. Nice cereals with light malty sweetness on the finish. Light caramel with nice floral notes. Great soft and drinkable mouthfeel.
Overall : Very well done. Really well balanced and really cohesive. Really drinkable especially considering the abv. I’m usually not such a big fan of amber hoppy beers but this one is really well executed. Not too much caramel so you can still get the basic flavors of the malt. It doesn’t have the same punch as Heady Topper for example but it has the same level of perfection.
