Pours muddy yellowish-brown with a small, film head. Aroma has yeast, piney, light apricot, mild bready malts and fairly vinious. Medium carbonation, fine dry and rather creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has firm bitterness, piney and apricot hops. Rather sharp, very bitter and quite unbalanced.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of FrumptyDumpty. Pours a cloudy opaque deep golden with a roughish off-white head. Intensely hoppy aroma, somewhat herbal. Rich body, fruity with loads of citrusy hops - again almost herbal. Bitter and alcoholic finish. Nice and very American. 280712
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ughsmash (6723) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Bomber. Poured a lovely shade of medium orange with a fluffy, sticky eggshell head.. looked good in the glass. The aroma picked up juicy orange, grape, and pineapple with black pepper and biscuity accents.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found warm caramel and biscuity malts at the core, with touches of vanilla.. peppered-up grapefruit bitterness around.. spicy, belly-warming finish with residual bitterness and supporting sugars. Heavier-bodied and filling on the palate.. this was big, but not unreasonably big, considering the ABV.. good feel and flow. Glad I got to try this.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 crosamich (430) - Naples, Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2012
solid offering. Lots of malt, bit of a yeast kick, major hops go pretty well together.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 pushkinwow (1371) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 30, 2012
Thanks to John for bringing this one up on your visit to Ottawa. Story from the Alchemist blog shows that it was one of the last batches that survived after the flood that destroyed the pub - actually labeled "hell or high water heretic". Nice amber colour with a fluffy white head that leaves great lacing down the glass. A very nice citrus and alcohol aroma, huge packet of hops that nicely combine pine resin and grapefruit, agree that there is a nice malt backbone - would probably age very very well but couldn’t resist. Very smooth, moderate carbonation and full body, balanced bitterness with some sweetness, long tasty finish wish the brewpub was still open and I could stop in every once in a while to try this beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 daknole (7211) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Dark brown pour, tan head. Nice strong hops kick ass with a light back note of roasted malt. Flavor is smooth but still has an incredibly strong hop presence. Great brew by a great brewery!
