2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lite cascade and citrus on the nose preceeds an otherwise run-of-the-mill IPA. Very sharp bitterness stabs the tongue at the very end of the swallow.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2004 Very dark for an IPA, I wonder if the 85 IBU from the hops helped kill the light? Spicy-sweet nose, the front is, whoa, sweet and malty, no real bitterness present; though it shows up towards the finish, on the whole this is a bit too sugary-syrupy-mapley for an IPA, methinks. Still a decent effort.7/3/6/4/13=3.3
Two months later...having a full pint was really necessary to do this justice. Great fruitiness throughout (cherries, apples, peaches) and plenty of counterbalancing citrusy hops; balance is excellent, really it only suffers in comparison with zillions of others. Very good.
