Amber in color with a small white head. Spicy rye and some floral hops in the aroma. Taste has a good amount of pumpernickel rye character as well as alot of citrus hops. Dry bitter finish. Medium body, nice stuff. VTHopHead (709), Barre, Vermont, USA Oct 14, 2004 Draft - Pours a dark amber in color with a thickish white head. Aroma is of strong citrusy hops with a complex mix of fruit and faint yeasty rye breadiness. Unusual, but pleasant. Flavor is quite hoppy (yum!). A very enjoyable beer. muzzlehatch (4429), Burlington, USA Jan 5, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Darkish amber, vestiges of a creamy head linger. Strong hoppy, pumpernickel-rye nose. Cherry, apricot, more rype and oh yes plenty of hops in the middle, and a nice whiff of vanilla and whiskey to finish. Delightful.
